Transferring Oil From Sachet to Vial

I ordered some vials to transfer oil into, but even though they were sold as "sterile" they did not come with the cover on the top. Should I get something different, or will using alcohol on the tops be enough?

Cleaning the tops with alcohol is fine. Typically empty vials come like this (without the flip off cap) so nothing to worry about.

i just inject the oil into old vials that ive already used lol..

Pulling the plunger out of the syringe and snipping off a corner of the pouch and pouring it in seems to be the easiest way to draw it out, instead of poking needles into the satchet

1. New vial
2. 5ml syringe with needle
3. second needle

Stick syringe with needle in vial.
Stick other needle in as well (releases air out)
pull plunger completely out.
Cut corner of ketchup and pour into syringe.
then put the plunger back in and push oil into vial.

I hate dealing with those damn sachets of ketchup. But the advice above would make it pretty easy. Don't you guys worry about the air exposure/contamination? I live in an area with a very dry climate and it's dusty here with particles always floating around.

Nah, those microscopic dust particulates are good for really tearing up the muscles. MOAR GAINZ!!!!

For real though, I'll never use satchels. That's just me.

I wipe plunger, scissors, satchet, and vial with alcohol, and it's only seconds from removing plunger, pouring in oil, then replacing plunger, and so far no issues.

After getting a bit more familiar with the sponsors here I don't see any reason to deal with those pesky sachets any more.

I'm surprised nobody has recommended filtering yet. This should be a given when transferring from an Un Sterile satchet to a sterile vial

Can't deny his reliability but he doesn't carry the #1 thing I'm after... GH. I wish he would change that.

Then again there's plenty of good competition for him with domestic.

Personally I'd be worried about small particles and aerosol bacteria. Get new vials. If they ship "sterile" vials like that I would never trust that source.

I never had a problem with bacteria when transferring from satchel to syringe or vial. Just do it.

if you are worried about extracting oil with syringe 22G/ 23G from sachet use whatman filter then inject it through filter directly into vial (old or new)

that's a little over the top with extra precaution but at least you know what came out of sachet is clean and isn't catching any indoor air pollution or dustmites. you can get whatman filters on ebay.

remember to blow on your needle to be sure it's clean ;0
