when is hcg is needed

i know there are many variables and everyone is different, just wanted to get some experiences/opinions on what length of a cycle does hcg become needed?

for example, i doubt many would use it for a 6 week cycle (might be assuming incorrectly on that), and i think most would reccomend it for a 16 weeker but where is the line?
