We are all here for one reason.. To better ourselves.. And that is to either drop bodyfat or put on muscle.. Or better yet, both.. Everyone has their method... For me, i want to be healthy and at the same time achieve my personal goals of staying lean and putting on muscle tissue.. For a long time, I have used the scale to judge my progress.. If im gaining weight, then im gaining muscle... As long as im keeping bodyfat in check..
I think that I try to look at the big picture to often and limit my progress.. Recently, I have been setting several minor/ more attainable goals.. Most of which are involved around my training.. One of the main reasons i love to bodybuild.. I love to better myself in the gym.. I think we sometimes get too wrapped up in what types of gear to take, what supplements to use, and what types of food to eat, that we loose our focus on what stimulates muscle growth... Hitting the iron... I saw a video on another board, and it really inspired me...
YouTube - Derik Farnsworth IFBB Pro bodybuilder Insane squat 405 for 30 reps!
What a great brutal set.. The weeks of continual progress to match this feat should set me up for success.. Increased appetite from training hard, mentally knowing i have to beat my previous lifts to capture my goal, and insuring im getting adaquate rest to fuel my workouts.. Plus the added motivation to do squats to my best ability.. I think these are the little things we can do and focus on to make our journey a more successful journey..
