How I got rid of my abscess

Some of you may remember me as the guy who screwed up while doing a quad pin but everything is well now.

I ran into another problem while doing a pin in my glutes. I did an injection and all felt ok but then I started to feel some discomfort. I didn't think much about it just thoght it was normal.A day later the pain became more noticeable and I started to feel around the site where I injected and I felt a hard lump. It was the size of a golf ball and very hard. I started to think, now what the f***?

I did a bit of research and it looked like I got an abscess. The thought of me going to my doctor and telling him what I did did not sit well with me.The news on the web seemed like doom and gloom to me. I got some good news from some members who had similar experiences and after a few weeks it subsided.That kept me going and i started feeling better.

After doing some more research, I discovered that there are 2 different types of abscesses. Most sites only list one. There is an infectious abscess caused by an infection; a sterile abscess caused by substance entering the body but it's not an infection.Wow!That was a real eye opener. I didn't have the symptoms of an infection so I deduced that it was an sterile type.Now what to do to get rid of this.

Further research and reading lots of forums from the members led me to the answer. It was quite simple. Apply a heating pad to the area for 20-30 minutes, 3-4X a day. I started this protocol and after a few times it started to get softer. I continued this treatment for a few days and massaging the area of course and after about a week the rock hard abscess is now gone.

So,to prevent further complications inthe future, I now warm my gear in a cup of water for a few minutes, inject, massage and apply a heating pad to the area.I have no pain and I can't even tell I did an injection.

Man, your luck is pretty bad. 5 post and 2 issues. Damn if it was me, I would stay away from needles.

I'm determined and not going to give up so easy. I will try other injection spots, different size needles until i get it right. I have read other members problems when they started out and some were worse than mine. When hell freezes over and I have exhausted all other avenues then I will consider it.Not now,it's the journey that counts.

so is the sterile abcess basicaly your bodys deffence mechanism isolating an unkown substance, i mean oil doesnt really belong in yo muscles
