amp vs vial

This is probably the dumb question of the month. I've always wondered though. Why do Pharm companies use Amp's instead of just using multi-dose vials for everything? I underdtand that sterility is probably easier to maintain with a single does amp; but, given proper measures, vials are safe too. It would seem the cost of producing single dose amps is up there.

multi dose vials are avoided as much as possible because doctors dont like to store used vials or have to worry about sterility issues...also some long acting esters like test E are unpractical for real life use in 10ml for example 200mg every week would make the vial last 10 weeks this would give serious issues with storage and sterility..BBers use much bigger ammounts so its no problem for them...alex

I do know that my prescription test enanthate comes in 10 cc vials, so that is pretty common. Amp vs vial is a good question really. If sterility was a real issue then my script would be amps. My test comes straight from Medco, one of the US's largest mail order pharmacy services used by insurance companies. Perhaps amps are used when the dose is given at a medical facility/the office since if you were administering to many people you would have to have more than one person sharing a vial. With me using it at home its safer since its just me using a vial. Probalby not a good idea to share vials. Almost as bad as sharing needles.

there is no harm or worry in sharing a 10 ml vial...as long as you use a new needle every time you draw. there is no difference to draw all 10 ml in 10 different pins filled to 1 ml each and inject 10 different people... you cant contaminate the vial unless you stick a used needle back in the vial.

Vials are rarely used here in Europe and are not suitable for some preparations. if you already have the facilities to produce amps, there is no point to making drugs in vials, imo.

just seems to me that having a bunch of amps around would be a pain in the @ss. Thats probobly just me though.
