training/workout advice?

so i've been going lower reps heavy weights for the last 7 weeks or so, making pretty good progress. either adding weight or adding multiple reps to every excercise and set week in, week out. my question is, do i wait til the day i dont progress, then go to a couple weeks light recovery, or, even tho im still going strong, take a couple weeks recovery just as a preventative measure?
its kind of like do i wait til i hit that wall or short change myself a little and prevent that stall?
 
Your muscle has memory just like your brain so you want to be ahead of the game and switch it up but also getting rest and taking a week or so off is vital to let the body completely heal. Just keep your diet clean and spend the time away from the gym to research new workouts and find answers to any questions you might have.
