Denied TRT Script

I went into my doctors office yesterday to review my blood tests and get refills on my script. Every time I go into the doctors office he questions me on where I get my scripts refilled at. They have a Pharmacy attached to the doctors office.
So being I haven't taken HCG in over a year I asked for a script because the TRT dosage is shrinking my boys. He goes in the back and says I have a 10000 iu bottle of HCG. We charge $175.

I explained that's way too expensive and I only need 5,000 iu's per month otherwise it's a waste. I said the compounding Pharmacy down the street is $75.
This angered him.

The Doc basically told me if you don't get it from me I am not writing you a script. Isn't that illegal?

It is not illegal but highly unethical. I see HRT clinics popping up left and right that are doing this.(have to buy the medicine from us, or we will charge you to write a script, etc. ) It is disgraceful.

Yeah I'm in FL. I was pissed off. I paid the $95 for my doc visit. What these guys don't realize is you try to take advantage of customers for $175 you lose business in the future.

That is the problem right there. They look at TRT as a business and not as medicine. They dont take insurance, dont do the proper testing before starting anyone on therapy (and no running 50 exotic tests in your private lab does not count as proper testing), and do not consult any specialist if the "patient" is seeing other physicians. It is pure garbage and only a matter of time before the TRT cash cow comes to a screeching halt and stricter guidelines are placed on it.
