Do you wipe the stopper on the vial with an alcohol pad?

I haven't been doing it and haven't run into any problems, I was just wondering whether I should start doing it.

I posted up a few weeks ago that I watched my neighbor pin insulin - he is a Type 1 diabetic, through his wet shorts while we were river tubing. He said he has been doing that all his life without incident. He is in his 40s and far, far away from a stupid guy. But it makes sense to wipe everything down. But I never do the vial or my skin and never an issue. Never. Your results may vary.

Yes, both vial and skin. Just a few seconds for peace of mind. Though I understand nothing is absolute.

Why would you ever take that chance, especially since it takes 2 seconds?? Do you take an AI? You don't have to, and who knows, maybe nothing happens. But do you take that chance? Not if you're smart...

My good buddy got infection from bacteria on the skin, transferred into injection site, operation, removal of muscle. Ever since, i wipe vial, and skin. You never know.:naughty:

anything that is wet bacteria will grow on...oil, water doesn't matter

just takes a few seconds might as well...alcohol pad $.02 dollars-abscess
$40 grand...that's what it cost me

Always on oil, never have on gh or insulin and have never had a problem.

I dont wipe the stopper but I definitely wipe the skin. Its probably a good idea to but I certainly don't think its necessary

I always wondered why people take risk... is it to just be able to say "I did it and nothing happened" or "Let's see what happens if..." it takes a couple seconds to clean it, not sure why it's such a big deal to be extra safe with regards to bacteria that may have built up.

yeah one abscess and watch how paranoid they get after that...I think I probably wash my hands with antibacterial soap about 12x a day now

once again why take the chance?
