Some of you know me, a lot don't. Lot's of new posters on PM in the last year. I've been slightly incognito nursing my left leg. I suffered an ACL tear last May and underwent reconstruction surgery July 2nd using part of my patellar tendon to create a new ACL. Luckily I didn't tear my MCL as well which is common, and I only had a slight meniscal tear that the surgeon actually just left alone.
Well since December I've been well enough and far enough along in my rehab to start hitting it pretty decent again. I've worked my way back up to a 405 squat, and a 430 dead so far.
Right now I'm training for a powerlifting meet on April 19. Then I'm going to look at aiming for a latter in the year BB show.
I'm weighing in around 255 right now and fairly soft but not so far gone I don't look like a bodybuilder. My short term goal is this PL meet. I'd like to compete in the 242 class so I need to lose around 15 lbs. I don't want to have to cut water or do anything to make weight, I just want my natural morning dry weight to be around 240.
Should not be overly difficult(famous last words right) as I've been on the see food diet for a while. Meaning if I see it, I fucking eat it!
So I'm going to focus on getting protein in at about 1.5g per lb and double that in carbs on training days. Non training days I'm going to keep carbs to 150g or less. No added fats to anything, trying to stay around 100g per day. I'll cut loose on the weekends with some of my favorite foods like pizza, burgers, and sushi.
Training is going to be a mix of BB and PL really. Monday is my squat day, Wed, bench, and Fri dead. Monday I will also do some back width and thickness exercises like chins and rows. Squat day consists of leg curls, stiff leg deads and hack squats. I spend a lot of time resting between sets on my deadlift day so I dont generally do a lot of assistance exercises. If I have energy I will do some chins.
This training may evolve a little bit as time goes on. I'd like to get a second squat day in there and I'd also like to be hitting military press at least once a week because for me there is a big carry over to bench.
My goal for the meet is to hit a 1500 lb total raw, in the sub masters(I'm 35). I should bench 430-450, squat 500, and pull 550-600. But we will see lol. My squat is going up a lot faster than my dead at the moment.
ALL GEAR as it has been since the end of 2012 is from Pro Pharma Research as he is simply as good as it gets in my book.
been on very little up till now, but about to crank it up a notch or two.
