Hey everybody. As you probably know, I competed in my first national show this year - NPC Jr USA, where I placed fourth in the Heavyweight Division. It was a great experience and taught me that I still have a lot of work to do to be truly competitive at such a high level.
I've been taking things fairly slow in my offseason up until now, but it's time to push things a bit harder now to make the improvements that I need. I'll be running this offseason log to talk a bit about what I'm doing to get there.
The first few months of offseason were a "cruise" phase where nothing was pushed too hard.
After that I ramped things up a bit more for a couple of months, but still not what I would consider 100%. I was doing pretty well - weight was up over 230lbs and I was getting strong, but then I got hit with a nasty virus. I ended up getting gastritis, which resulted in me losing 15lbs over the course of 10 days or so, from a mixture of dehydration and not being able to eat.
Now my health is back in order and I'm ready to make the push to take things to the next level. Aside from competition goals, I will be heading to Jamaica in a month to get married, so we're going to see what kind of results I can get in the next four weeks.
All supplementation for this offseason phase is being supplied by Mean Greens, who is a one-stop-shop for any serious competitor.
I'll be updating and posting pics regularly. Thanks for following along.
