After u have been off slin and sensitivity is good. Do u start low and work back up to Ur normal stopping point? I only make 2 runs with slin a year. 4 weeks is my first. I usually start back @ 7iu R 1h 30min. Pre workout. And when I leave for the gym pin another 7iu. R i.m. I keep my carbs consistently around 300g( or slightly lower depending on my workout) around my slin dose even if I'm lower with slin. I workout first thing in the am. I end with 28iu total. I'm debating on starting higher this run and possibly ending higher. Going 6 weeks. With 2 rest days a week. I use ala, cinnamon, chromium,ACV, ect.. throughout. 3 times a day. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks!
 
It would be best to start low and work your way up from there because you took a break most likely your insulin sensitivity is high so you will not need as much. When you realize that a higher dose is not working as good for you then you know you need a break from it again.

Thats pretty much how I always did it- after long breaks start back with say 5 ius work my way up to 15 iu- then come back off of it.
 
I always do but never as low as my first time. I start around 8ius. I know now what my body needs carb wise per iu so no more 4 ius with 40 grams of carbs for me.

Are u using Humalog or faster acting than R?
 
I would def start low again just to be safe as u never knw where u sensitivity is at after a break. U can always increase quick but id def start frst couple low
I prefer log as the spike is easier to manage bc of the quicker onset

I always thought log was the fastest whether it be humalog or novolog?

It depends whether your insulin sensitivity has changed or not. If you're coming off a keto or low carb diet, then you will probably have to start low dose again.
 
I always start low and work my way up, usually in 2iu increments up to a max of 18iu pre workout. Never hit the 20 Mark
 
My highest was 28 total pre post. I blew up but the visceral fat started to come on. After a shortcut the visceral fat came off fast and held 10 pounds lean muscle.

I will start at 14 because I never run close to the 10g carbs to iu. Holding back on jumping into 20 shortly after. And making a push to 40. I might make one more run after this one. But I'm coming up on 40. Planning on doing my last show next spring. I'm never going to be a pro in this sport. I really want to end on top ( at my level) I feel I have tried about everything and don't want to hold back at this point. But I definitely don't want to end up a fat ass life long type 2 diabetic either. Just wondering how far I can push it!

I really appreciate everyone's input on this and not blowing this off as another Fricking insulin post! :)

I'm betting you are still highly insulin resistant, what is your fasting glucose?
