Hate to bump my own thread but I'm surprised there isn't more buzz and posts re: this. I would have to say most didn't view the trailer. It actually moved me. Maybe it's more near and dear to me, but I know I'm not alone on this one. Perhaps it's my age group. The delivery and characters are spot on. Crowe as Jor-El, Costner as Jonathan Kent, Michael Shannon as Zod, and the kid playing Superman (Henry Cavill) is good too. Michael Shannon is intense....if you ever saw the movie, "Bug", you know what I'm talking about.

I am a DC Comics Superman purist. I think they already screwed up by showing Clark Kent with a beard!! The DC superman couldn't grow a beard as explained in the comics, because his own whiskers could not penetrate his indestructable skin. I may see the movie but you deviate from the DC reality and you lose my interest!!

Check out the writing credits: David Goyer and Christopher Nolan. The writers (and director) of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises.

I do expect to see this movie and like it.

I'm very interested in this movie and will definitely pay some $$ for the ticket but I do agree that this "oh i'm such a tormented soul"-Batmanlike theme doesn't fit the original Superman.

It's going to work though because Nolan made it cooool in the past 5 years and no one remembers Superman's facts and backstory

Hair and eyebrows were already there as a baby on Krypton. He didn't gain super powers till he was exposed to earth's yellow sun.

I could care less about the original comic. I read, loved it, but this is a retelling of the story not the original. I think Nolan is one of the best, and this movie could be right along the Dark Knight as one of the best super hero movie of all time.

That's awful. From the trailers the plot looks 100% identical to Batan! A lost soul wondering around till he has a epiphany. I hated the new Batman series, partly due to Baile sounding like a moron in costume. The one with Joker was bad ass, but that's it.

I was a fan of the previous Superman movie. It reflected the classic Superman movies with Reeve. All the remakes these days are getting really bad.
