So over the past few weeks I have been getting unexplained bruising on both of my upper legs. So, I finally went to the hospital and had bloods ran and I've been told my platelet count is low and that basically my red blood cells are ripping apart. I was given vitamin K and was told by the hematologist to quite taking any and all steroids. I have a follow up visit in a few weeks to have blood work done again. I was taking 500mg of test and 750mg of EQ and some Tren A off an on during this time at 300mg a week as wells as some A50 at 50mg a day. I also take nolvadex 20mg every morning along with 50mg of proviron a day. However, once I noticed the bruising I dropped everything except for taking 150mg of test a week. Anyone out there have any experience, I am just afraid the hematologist will blame the steroids, I have used steroids off an on the past 20 years and have never had a problem.

Thanks

I recently in the past few days got a huge bruise on my calf for no reason and bruises all over my arms that I can't explain. I just guessed the ones on my arms were from shoulder injects and the blood or something working it's way down. The calf had a candy sized bump and was huge bruise.

Wow, what causes this? I'd think AAS would cause the opposite of a low platelet count! Did the doc explain the connection?

Good luck, guys, feel better!!

No I haven't, I went to the ER and a PA looked at me and did my bloods and did ultra sound on my legs to make sure there were no blood clots. All I told him at that time was I was on a TRT dose of 150mg of test. He then called a hematologist doctor and asked him if he knew what was causing this. I then told the PA what I was actually taking, he said tell the hemo doc everything when you see him in 2 weeks. So, I have an apt on May 8 to do more bloods and try to figure out what it is. He also advised me to stop taking all anabolics in the meantime. So at this time Im only taking herbal stuff to help bring up my platelets and lower my liver enzymes. I also read that nolvadex can cause thrombocytopenia. So of course I stop taking that too as well as the proviron. Thanks guys for your suggestions, Sucks so bad to have to deal with this.

Testosterone can cause Deep Vein Thrombosis. It says that right in the package insert. You better be careful.

It is abnormal decrease below 50,000 per microlitre in the number of blood platelets. (NL range 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microlitre of blood)

Basically it is problems clotting..so nosebleeds, bruising, etc.
Not real familiar on how to treat, but I know the goal is to get that count back to that normal range.

As you already mentioned Novla can bring platelet levels down. It can be a good tool on a cruise to get blood levels normal....but i wouldnt use it long term.

Did they check you for vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency? and bone marrow?

I've had the opposite problem, increasing platelet counts. I think it was due to the gh I was taking. I did have mysterious bruising once when taking tren a. I would bruise my biceps just by doing curls.

I would ask your hematologist to screen you for hemochromatosis. Everything that you have described ie: Bruising, Thrombocytopenia and elevated LFT, is suggestive of hemochromatosis.

Over the 20 years have you had any phelbotomies done?

Probably not many phlebotomies, but in those cases my hematocrit was normal. This issue with the elevated platelets has come up in the last year.

Just 4 days before I went to the ER and had bloods drawn I went to the United Blood and did a power red donation. I had done a power red donation about a year ago as well.
