been drinking whey for 20 years now. Dr. says i am currently lactose intolerant. Anyone have this issue? Did you replace the whey with soy protein or a differebt type of protein or did you just give up on whey and just eat a meal after training. i hate giving up whey..convienent, quick , cheap and very effective. Thanks for any feedback brothers.

I am as well, seems like it happened overnight. I currently take the cheap stuff from WalMart, Body Fortress I think, Whey Isolate, claims to be lactose free. $20 for 2 lbs, and not a bad taste; I put it in my oatmeal in the mornings and maybe one shake a day in addition. But, I find even though it's "lactose free", if I take in too much of it, I get an upset stomach.

my lactose intolerance also seemed to happen overnight. i used to drink a ton of whole milk, now i cant have any dairy. except cheese... no way im cutting out cheese. i think mine came from either a round of antibiotics or my current antacid medication. i tried carnivore brand protein but it was terrible. i was thinking of ordering some egg white protein off true nutrition.

Try raw milk.

lbas and eggwhites...way better than whey imo.

8oz. eggwhites 4tbls lbas... about 50 grams protein.

Don't over complicate things. Go buy lactase tablets they cheap. Just take 1 or 1/2 tab with your shake, your all set. I am mildly lactose intolerant aswell, this is how I drink my protien shakes.

Ended up in the same boat. Tried all the alternatives (soy, pea, beef, egg) I ended up using the premium rice from true nutrition. It seams to be the closest in taste and texture, it works better with chocolate flavors.

Lol great idea! he can't digest milk...there for he should go ahead and drink MORE milk

it is a great idea...raw milk contains enzymes and probiotics that make it digestable...

theres a few good threads on the board,if you do a search you can educate yourself.

Thank you, I know it was a great idea. Now you do too.

where can i purchase raw milk? at a local farm? i just found this website listing farms to buy from in the US... Eat Wild
That is one way. I believe realmilk.com may be another way to find some. Regardless, it's going to come from a local farmer (probably selling it under the terms it's for pets...due to law) and it should be grass fed raw milk preferably from Jersey Cows. Some farmers markets have vendors as well.

You do your research my friend. There were studies proving that wrong

Try raw milk.

You beat me to it!

This is why I drink isolate. Gassy as fuck from milk
Have wanted to try lactase with a concentrate. Save money...but another pill..????uuugh

Same here. I don't understand why people keep buying the cheapest whey proteins out there thinking whey proteins are all created equally. That's like saying all steaks are the same.

On John's website there is a link to a site where you can search for farms near you that sell organic grass feed beef and kind of close to me there is this farm that sells raw milk for $6 a gallon (and I think grass fed ground beef for $6.50/lb). I'm going to start getting milk from them and use raw milk as one of my fat sources. When lean bulking comes around I'll be adding red meet back into my diet so grass fed beef.

I think it is worth it since freaking organic milk costs $5 and some a gallon.
