Canned Tuna, is there anyway to make this shit taste better?
Any recipes out there? I know it's a staple for many with it being cheap, good protein...

I just don't like the taste.

Anybody have any simple tips to liven it up.

Thanks in advance...
 
only way i can do it is if i drown the shit in miracle whip
 
i found some thick marinade it's lemon garlic that makes it almost like with mayo but much better flavor

however i also can eat the stuff straight
 
Is it really worth it? Frozen chicken breast is close to same price. I haven't eaten that shit in years.
 
Id rather drink egg whites than shovel those fish rations down...or eat cold chicken breast. Cook it in bulk and then microwave it. Same amount of time as adding shit to canned tuna to make it edible.

Mix in a couple tablespoons of olive oil based mayo, and then equal parts chopped celery and onions, then season with salt and pepper. It's a bit labor intensive but delicious. I eat it on whole grain wraps or with flavored triscuits

I actually like tuna, but like most, I cant eat it straight.

I only like the taste of white albacore tuna with miracle whip.

I add the below and have it twice a week, lots of TLC goes into my tuna.

1. TSP of EVOO
2. half a lemon juice
3. garlic powder
4. djon mustard
5. miracle whip
6. chopped celery
7. one or two chopped low sodium pickles

Try it. I make it the same every single time.

You need to have it sit in the fridge after mixing for 10-20 min - at least I do.
I cant eat tuna at room temp.

One other option is to use some EVOO and lemon and mix with beans to make a cold bean/tuna salad.

I like poll and troll caught tuna by Wild Planet it doesnt even need anything to mix to it and its way better for you. They have it at Costco for a good price. I saw it on a Meadows video I've been eating it ever since.

beef liver is your best bet here.. 2.60/lb and doesn't shrink to nothing like chicken breast does

As a snack I usually take 2 cans and drain/empty them into a bowl, crack an egg in it add a pinch of salt and mix it up completely.
Heat up a pan with a little EVOO and fry that sucker up making a little tuna patty, tastes amazing.

Or I mix it with peanut butter on a sandwich because I hate mayo
 
Sriracha (Thai hot sauce) makes just about anything taste good if you like your food a little spicy. Totally masks any fishy taste, and doesn't smell like cat food food any more

Mayo is simple and easy, basic tuna salad, add some celery and scallions and you'll be doing even better!

Personally I HATE miracle whip, it's like mayo that someone dumped a bunch of sugar in. Yuck.

The thought of a peanut butter and tuna sandwich makes me want to yack, but to each his own, I suppose.
 
Haven't eaten tuna in a long time after i discovered fresh salmon! May be more expensive but i was hooked the first time I bought it! Tuna is for emergency purposes only lol

Wow just did this and it's very good.

The only problem is the main reason for me to use tuna is its easy to take on the road. So using an egg defeats the purpose at least for me but it was damn good.
I think next time I'm just gonna add some hot sauce and see how that goes..
