Currently 480lbs RAW bench and training for 500+lbs bench before transitioning to some Geared benching.

Yesterday was my Overload day and I decided to try on the Single Ply Katana. First time in a bench shirt. Was really hoping to smash 600lbs in that bad boy but it just wasn't in the cards. Maybe too big of a jump, and also plenty of technique issues.

Learned a lot in the shirt and definitely have a lot of respect for geared lifters. The pressure is unreal!

I didn't have much left in me after my failed 600 so Just polished it off with the dips.

On a side note after bench sessions I am going to be doing a lot less "light" tricep work over the next few weeks. I am definitely getting weaker at the top, probably too much light DBs and band work for triceps, this stuff is great and all but doesn't make you powerful.

Definitely have to be aware of your accessory work movements. They can make you and break you.

Take note of how FAST I am with those warmup sets. I was a bit too slow with the 320 (FYI 50lbs bar) because the jump from 230 to 320 was too big in my warmup process. But remember when maxing FAST bar speed during the warmups translates (usually) to a higher max.
Can't be strong and slow, and if you 'prime' yourself with your warmups by moving slow you certainly aren't going to move fast once you have some real weight on that bar.
I can't stress this enough to people. MOVE THE BAR

Probably going to take a 2-3 week hiatus from speedwork on Tuesdays and concentrate on some quality volume but I will still be moving those weights as fast as I can.

Max effort squat day, first squat session in about two weeks. Ended with 525 with chains (total 525 at the top, 425 at the bottom). Not a bad day.

Ready to try my Oly shoes Thursday.

Going to be squatting twice a week going forward but on Thursday's itll only be a light 70% squat

Definitely no stranger to the bench and am more than willing to help any PM members looking to add some strength to that lift.

Going to be making some gains on the squat and deads over the next few months and competing in June, hopefully finally going to break that 500lbs bench.

Yeah 500 is the goal
1410 is my total with token deadlifts due to injury

Bench is what I'm known for 18th in the nation now
But once my other numbers catch up it'll be trouble :)

Are you doing any certain type of therapy for your bicep strain? Currently experiencing it myself from heavy squats/bench.

I get a massage twice a week to have them work on the tissue

Just nursing it as well not doing anything that directly strains the tendon

Clarify what you are experiencing I used to get a pain / crushing feeling in my biceps when benching heavy seeing a chiro fixed me up pretty good

Geesh everything costs money !

Nice lifts and yea, one injury will take you out of your game for PL. Make sure you don't rush yourself back faster then you are recovering.
