For the past few years, I've suffered something wrong with my knee...I had minor surgery on it when I was 16 (10 years ago) and cleaned it up....fast forward to two years ago it started off only hurting during squats/deads.......the it hurt during stairs, then it hurt during incline walking........as long as I keep my leg straight, it is fine.....anything that requires me to bend at the knee (stairs, squats, ect) creates a shooting pain to the point my leg collapses at times...........

recently, I went to see the SAME orthapedic surgeon who worked on me at 16......according to him, MRI reveals NO damage and he had No advice for me............any advice?

Go get a second opinion.

Post up the mri report. It wasn't done in some POS 0.3T magnet right?

They never gave me a copy, the imaging center forwarded mri to the surgeon...I need to contact them to get a copy

Sounds like arthritis under the knee cap, I have the same thing and what you describe is how mine feel

Borax?

Anybody ever heard of Borax for arthritis?

A friend of mine swears by it. Says it is unavailable in stores.

Knee bros? Sorry that just sounds weird

Is it a pain that is constant or does kind of flare up and goes away?

yea, as a broscientist, I think that you have HIV in your knees....

Where is the pain? Left side right side? Front? Patellla?

The pain is a shooting pain mainly when climbing steps, it feels like it is behind the cap...it flares up a little more when I'm at work (lot of stairs)..........I put it off for a long time and it progressively got worse, when he had no diagnosis I was shocked

I happen to be sitting there with an orthopaedic surgeon. She says it sounds like your developing early arthritis. It's just too soon to show on an X-ray or Mri. You can ask them to scope it out, or there are injections that could help too.

I will def look into that and weigh my options there, I will find a new guy to go to as well.....

Just did a quick search on osteoarthritis, it describes the symptoms I'm having PERFECTLY...I'm unsure why a well known surgeon would not have thought, and explored that option

I'm not sure why you would jump to surgery for knee pain!!! Wowza haha I'd try something less invasive, get a good join supp

Jump to surgery? You are mistaken...the knee had a minor issue years ago and I had needed surgery. ...another issue pops up years later, family doc sends me BACK to the Orthapedic Center to have it re evaluted and an MRI......no jumping here, I've tried every joint supp u can imagine and it changed nothing

It could really be a lot of things, but at the age of 26, arthritis is really the last thing I would suspect. Can you get a copy of the MRI report and post it? Also, depending on the quality of the MRI things can be missed(i.e. Simon Med sucks). And even with a good quality image, they are not exact as well as they can be misread. Over the years I have had many patients where I have disagreed with the x-ray report or mri report and sent them to a specialist whom I trust where they saw things on the MRI that the initial doc missed.

Arthritis is not age dependent. It does not care and can and will hit you anytime it feels like. I've had arthritis under the patella ( kneecap ) since I was 23 yrs old. Your work and life style play a major part on wether or not you get arthritis young or old.
What kind of work does the OP do ? What type's of sports has he played in the past ? Does arthritis run in his family ? etc, etc, etc
