The NFL is planning games in Mexico and China, but eating meat there can cause players to fail PED tests.

A bunch of players posted images on Twitter of the notice they got from the league and players union warning them that “consuming large quantities of meat” while traveling in China and Mexico could trigger a positive test for clenbuterol, a fat-burning drug.

Even though it’s illegal, ranchers give clenbuterol to their cows to make them meatier. Eat enough tainted meat and the drug will show up in your system.

They're basing the miniscule anabolic properties off of animal models that has shown transcriptional activity on the androgen receptor. In turn, becomes labelled anabolic in humans.

It's actually not clen, it's a beta III agonist (clen is a beta II). Humans don't experience as much of an anabolic effect from beta III stimulation however it packs mass on bovine as well as leans them out. They put it in their feed. It's similar enough to clen to cause a false positive.
