Dr. Thomas O'Connor shares some good info to keep in mind. The one thing that surprised me is the use of statins though.

Same stuff we already discussed here.

I have been on a crusade to have bbers add in acei/arb for quite some time. Hes the only other guy ive seen mention it so glad to see maybe its picking up a bit.

See my recent statin posts.. i am personally on a statin and i agree somewhat with his statements but may not be needed for TRT but likely if used/abused AAS

Spoken about beta blockers and ASA before at length.

Nothing new but glad he is also in agreement. We have gotten into a lot more detail in the heart failure threads on here but its a nice overview video.

This stuff always scares me. But i watched all the way through.

I've linked Dr. O'Connor a few things on Facebook. Very energetic physician. Highly regarded PL, at one time.

As gotgame mentioned, basic overview of topics discussed here.

Nonetheless, always a good reminder and hopefully ground some individuals.

health supplements

This is another good one on health supplements. He also discusses the use of statins. It clarifies why he uses them.

For the most part , i like what he uses and says. The statins for me , i would not use. Nitric oxide is super important for cardio and vasucarity health .I also should say when we get vasularity problems ( read from another doctor book) the arteries loose its elasticity and when put under stress ,part of the artery tears and cholesterol is used to fill in the damage and plaque is formed.. We need that elasticity to prevent this. I also bought a book from dr louis ignarro callled no more heart disease. He worked on creating viagra. Its based on nitric oxide ,it opens the blood vessels. Exercise opens the blood vessels.... in his book, l-arginene and l-citruline create nitric oxide. Beets create nitric oxide.
In fact usfussionsupplies.com have an injection with arginine and citruline im so anxious to try.
In my opinion ,every drug has a side effect that can create more problems so for me, i`ll use these other approaches from natural sources.
I keep my diet pretty clean ,too so..
Statins are there for people who just dont give a dam on what is put in their bodies , diet wise and dont care about exercise....
I am sure its all preventable. My father who is almost 90 takes very little to no pharma drugs but does do old fashion diet practices.Has his own garden, makes fermented foods, eats wild fish and game and of course , gets his exercise.

I would love to have a consultation with him to discuss mostly his misleading information in the "secret sauce". However, when we come to the situation of steroid use, theres not much we can do as far as avoiding problems. So in this case it would make sense his approach of adding certain drugs to counteract the potential side effects of steroids. But thats why I would love to make an appointment with him if he was close. Nothing new in the whole video anyways. He's a good guy and really want to help.

Trimezidine & Testosterone

Any of you guys looked at this before? Very interesting study and specific to our sport. Lots of data available and has been used for 30+ years in Europe.... Probably not enough money in it for US pharmacy interest?

The doctor's little morning stack is interesting. He needs to upgrade his curcumin form/delivery though! :) Otherwise, nothing special or surprising. I do think people demonize statins unfairly. I am not on a statin, but actually an even newer class of cholesterol drug - an injectable called praluent (psk9 inhibitor). No supplement has ever touched my cholesterol as I have sky high genetic cholesterol (a condition to get this new drug).

I wonder why he is such a fan of Bystolic for blood pressure. I agree its the king of beta blockers and a good choice for mild BP. But I always felt the ARB Telmisartan was the king for overall peripheral benefits / health.

Any opinions? gotgame, stewie?

Dr jerry tennant

One of the doctors books i am reading is called healing is voltage. This dr healed himself when there was no hope in the medical arena many years ago.He was exposed and working with viruses and got very sick. It was find a cure for himself or die.

Everything on earth and in the body is electrical ,so if u know electronics, one can relate. Ph balance can be measured in a certain voltage.
In chapter 7 he talks about statin drugs and what actually goes wrong for heart disease. The arteries have a bungee like material made from collagen that stretches when different blood pressure is needed. This collagen needs ,vit c,b6,b12, copper and folic acid to be strong and repair itself. When these arteries are poorly maintaned , this bungee cord material stretches too much and tears. " from his book he writes. it has become apparent that the real cause of heart disease is inflammation in the wall of the arteries. When the wall of the arteries become weak, the body uses a putty made of cholesterol and calcium to strengthen the wall so it wont blow out.we call that patch a plaque.

I read other books from doctors saying the same thing that cholesterol is not the problem but when the arteries get damaged, cholesterol is needed for repairing the wall. ( kind of important information ).
Its then after this damage that plaque is formed and may eventually restrict blood flow. ( The body does very logical survival things and this is one of them).

He also mentioned that hypothyroidism is a big factor to keep in mind relating to heart disease and lack of those nutrients i mentioned.
He says ,fluoride in water and other sources damages the collegen allowing the arteries to overstretch.

Very good information think about and further educate on the subject.....

i have mentioned nebi as a good alternative to atenolol with some added benefits. Different mode of action though then telmi. I would combine both ( telmi and nebi) and i know many people who do especially when they are on high cycle doses.

By combining both your bp is in check, you get renal protection, likely help prevent cardiac remodeling and increase cardiac NO production.. yet no one seems to routinely use them outside of myself ( i use for health reasons not high cycle dose reasons, i did switch from losartan to telmi) or a few ppl i know who are really concerned about there future health and are up to date on how to make sure they are as healthy as possible. One day i wish id see this stuff on ppls normal lists.

Gotgame , I am on losartan 50mg and amlodipime 5mg for bp.
This keeps my bp about 117/72.
Do you think these 2 drugs are good combination?

glad your BP is a good range. Keep it there.

if those meds keep your BP at that level then keep doing what you are doing. Im not the worlds biggest fan of calcium channel blockers as a first line but if that is needed on top of the ARB then keep taking it.

For many it will have less issues then a beta blocker. However some beta blockers like nebi have added benefits. I still like atenolol a lot especially for lack of sides ( except in some it may effect lipids a bit)

Historically ive recommended losartan and i often continue to for a lot of ppl however a short while ago ive moved over to telmi for some potential added benefits but both are great to take when on AAS

Interesting find...

I think the absence of lesions is all important in trt use....? I started using it a couple years ago and my cardiologist says my murmur is better and he was surprised? He doesn't know Im using it.... A lot of athletes in europe use it as well... so I think as a safety net, Ill keep it in the mix.

Side effects? Downsides?

I agree with much of what he says. but not everything. I'm totally against taking statins in most cases and you can't compare testosterone to tren and orals. Testosterone is actually heart healthy in the right doses, but not orals and tren!
