1 meal
200g (7oz) oatmeal, banana
10-12 egg whites + 2-3 yolks
1-2 pieces whole wheat toast
2-3g amino acids

2 meal (preworkout)
protein and carb drink
2-3g amino acids

3 meal (post workout)
150g (5oz) rice
300g (10.5 oz) sweet potato
8oz turkey
2-3g amino acids

4meal
150g rice
baked potato
7oz tuna
2-3g amino acids

5meal
8oz steak
baked potato
2-3g amino acids

6meal
200g oatmeal
8-10 egg white
2-3g amino acids

Total for 700-800g carbs, 350-400g protein, 50-100g fats 5500cals
 
Dorian should've quit being such a wuss and eaten whole eggs and more red meat during the offseason. :D

That looks like a pre-contest diet to me. Not much food there to facilitate the '91-'92 metamorphosis that took place in his physique.

Such a diet is definitely not the healthiest you could set up... a monoinsatured fats intake close to zero (except for a few grams in oats) isn't very heart friendly.

But hey, since when BB is meant to be healthy? :cool:

I read once he stayed between 8-10% body fat offseason.So if eating clean 5-6k cal. I would think would be plenty of cal. to put on lean muscle tissue in the offseason instead of fat.Dorian was very disciplined.Also I believe he recomends a little more good fat in a diet these days.But you have to remember back in his day bodybuilders ate alot of carbs and little fat.
 
91-92 metamorphosis was called up the dose

Yates says his "metamorphosis" was due to taking the diet slower during prep. He said dosages were the same. He claims he just held on to that much more size by doing this.

Why would Dorian be lying about this? He is an out in the open type of guy, has nothing to gain from telling people lies when it comes to what he ate. Try following this exact diet for a month and see if it isnt difficult for you. 5500 clean calories is nothing to sneeze at.

diet looks good to me, but all those carbs would make me so fat it would be unreal...
 
I have pretty much followed a variation of his diet since his book Blood and Guts first came out. The main lesson I learned from Dorian's diet is this: you don't need as much protein as you think you do. Chris Aceto also help hammer this message home for me. But the final factor for me was doing bloodwork and watching my BUN. For me, a BUN in the high end of normal means I'm getting too much protein (assuming I am well hydrated and have been). I'm sure there is a large individual variance, but I think most bodybuilders eat way too much protein, at least at the amateur level.
