I'm starting this thread in hopes of getting a little discussion going..

From personal experience and/or scientific studies, what have you found to be an acceptable amount of fat to eat with carbs that will not cause excessive fat gain?

Some people say don't eat carbs with fats, some people say you can eat up to 15g fats with carbs, some people eat unlimited amounts of fats with carbs.

I'm not strictly referring to synthetic insulin either, i'm referring to the hormone in general.

Jp I know personally if I were to spike my own insulin with either fruit or fast digesting carbs and eat more then lets say 1 oune of nuts I would add BF,,

However if I ate 90grams of carbs from oats or Sweetpotatoes and 65 grams of protein I would build lean muscle,,, i think for some it matters.. but I have never done good with higher fat diets so maybe my body is not accustomed

Im definintely a High carb high pro low fat eater
 
I think people look at fat intake and insulin a little too simplistically...digestion and utilization of fat (especially in a mixed meal) isn't instanteous....just because you ate chicken, rice and olive oil doesn't mean all three foods have been broken down for fuel.
 
Last run of Insulin I did was with Novolin R, longer acting. I eat meal 1 then go train. But that meal was 6 whole eggs cooked in a tsp of coconut oil along with some toast with PB and Jam. Fats were up there and I was fine. Actually eating some healthy fats around my Insulin I believe allowed me to eat less carbs and still be fine. I leaned out doing it this way and actually carbs were quite low with the amount of Slin I took but I pounded the bcaa's.
 
this is really going to come down to individual response ..which would include many things such as genetics, activity level, and of course how insulin sensitive or insensitive you already are ..+ also other things such as time of day and exactly what else was consumed in combination with it including not just other macros but also micronutrients too ..chromium is a good example of a microntrient (a mineral) that would increase insulin sensitivity

just curious, when you say "pounded" do you mean like 15-30gm range?
 
Interesting question...

Personally, I've noticed better fat-loss results from high protein-high fat-low carb, than high protein-low fat-high carb meals.

High carb meals with low fats don't feel right...I feel hypo after an hour or so, and they just race through my stomach--no sense of satiety.

For me, personally, I'll do Zone-style meals (40-30-30) or low-carb meals...never low fat meals.

3 scoops of MG Powdered Muscle split pre/intra/post on back and leg days

3 scoops leuc-sane pre....2 scoops BCAA Plus intra workout...then some leuc-sane and EAA post.

couldnt tell ya how much that adds up to though.
