Incredible conditioning. I would like to see the rest of his body! Really impressed. The size is down from what he was but that conditioning looks like it is about the best he has ever had. Lee is a really nice guy too. Our college weightlifting club once hired him to come give a short seminar and guest pose at our contest. He was down to earth and very friendly. That was back when he was a top Olympia contender too. He never let his success get to his head.

Well, to me when you look at the picture you can tell that the skin is that of an older man. At least it looks that way to me. Another thing, he isn't the kind of guy that would lie like that. No reason to do so.

seriously. :rolleyes: maybe go question Lee himself, a man that's whole legacy is based on class & integrity along with an Olympian level physique something sorely missed in this "sport". Its called world class genetics.

Well he did post it on his IG and stated it was his calf and that he was 57 ;):D
 
He never was known for his size but to me it looks like he has kept most of it. But tough to tell from one pic. Conditioning is extraordinary, but that was his forte.

He trains his legs very seriously , I am 9 years older than him, and I hit my legs 4 times per week, I am 65 on this photo. When you get older you need to train your legs more than 2 times per week. Medium heavy higher reps.

What's your reasoning for this?

Do you feel that's why many pro bodybuilders start to lose their legs in their 40s - they don't increase training frequency?

Yes, legs are 1/2 our body and has the largest muscles groups, when we get older the working fibers of the muscles shrink, and fat and fibrous tissue replace some of former muscle volume, by exercising you can prevent the muscle fiber shrinkage.
