Spironolactone for hair loss

Does anybody here have experience with spiro for hair loss? I was wondering how effective it is and if anybody knows where to get it. I found some called spiro5 but I don't know a lot about spiro yet

I don't find it's very effective topically. It's better than nothing but nowhere near as effective as oral finasteride or dutasteride. Spironolactone's certainly effectively orally but you definately don't want to use it that way.

I use it for control of aldactone which keeps down some water retention with my heart failure. They say it can cause gyno in a number of people, so watch out for that. I have no trouble and take it orally, but my doc had to take a good number of people off of it and put them on another more expensive drug.

thing to keep in mind here is that youre playing doctor with your own body taking all of these drugs and don't really have a full grasp of all of the consequences, be careful.

I make up a shampoo that contains it - hard to tell how effective it is though.

U can get it from overseas online pharmacies I believe.

Spirolactone is made to block aldosterone. Taking spiro alone will start feminize you. Yes will cause gyno.Transvestites take it for these purposes. I know my wife was told by her asain doctor that she had some masculine features and she had water retentions issues so he had prescribed it for her. Well absolutely killed all sex drive.And slowed down the hair growth of arm pits and legs hence helped feminize.

I think you mean to control aldosterone bc aldactone is a drug that is made up of spirolactone and HCTZ.

Is it working well for you?
For such an old drug it's often miraculous for a lot of heart failure patients - even when they're refractory to oral Lasix. It doesn't work as fast as iv Lasix, though. It's cheap, too.

I have like a whole draw full of the powder from like 4 years ago still wrapped in the vaccum pack not sure how long it lasts or why I saved it.

I would be fine without it I think, but my doc wanted to put me on everything he could to extend my lifespan. I never have troubles with water retention and I eat my share of sodium for sure. Ive not had sore nipples or any signs of gyno.

aldactone is a proven androgen blocker

get aldactone and crush the tabs make a sulotion with 5% alcohol and around 1500 mg tabs last a month a so.

YOU SHOULD NOT TAKE EM ORALLY FOR HAIRLOSS!!

topical spiro may be a helpful addition for frontal hair loss. However, smell is an issue and your pillow and sheets will take on smell. Also, for some, such as myself, can have feminizing issues, especially gyno, even when used topically.
