Before and after 14yrs
anyone who says they can't grow hasn't tried....properly
2-300 reps a day of various exercises, no plan
45 mins cycling
45-90 mins walking
all daily....prob 80% adherence rate to be accurate.

Wasn't fking fast...but consist, hard work, eventually pays off....just a whole lot slower

The high reps on calfs and bike helped mine also, great job.

Cannibal,

Nice transformation! Did you go to failure on every set? Thanks.

In the words of Dante, sometimes you have to get funky with it... Calves are particularly fickle and ou need to get creative and do some odd stuff to induce growth. Looks like you found your gem and ran with it and it worked very well.

Great transformation.

Whatever you did worked....great calves.

Cannibal,

Also I forgot to add this in my last post. When your calves are sore did you still hit them hard? It sounds like you did but I just want to confirm. Thanks.

I kept the general rep ranges 15-20 for seated and 10-15 for anything else.
Reps done at fast but not bouncing cadence.
rest periods minimal 30 secs max
Never to failure , max 90%
This is a general summary of the last 14years, there were periods I tried other things, the Luke Saunders routine etc.
in the start I went heavy, but now it's only moderate fullest range possible.
the biggest single improvements came from altering my cycle stroke to really empathize a flexion of the foot each revolution.
I don't Cycle fast, it's my daily commute, but all adds up. I changed that 4 years ago and things started happening.
Walking everyday at a turtle pace but again consistenfly

It's been a long haul, started when I was 21 and my mum's big mouth friend called me chicken legs, after two years hard squatting...devastated...thought I'll show that bitch....I haven't seen her in a decade, and doubt she remembers or gives a Fk.

Bodyweight has gone from 71kg in the first to 99 in the second.
Probably contributed too.
No seo's etc, or site injects. Run a moderate 250-500mg test a week as I'm close to 40....over half the time drug free.

No quick fix to be sure, but my calves were as bad as they get, and while now pro caliber now, are now my strongest part....they can grow...people just underestimate the volume & time frame it takes.
my genetics to build muscle are average to below average so some of the monsters here could prob do it in half the time

They never really got sore past the first few weeks, tired is prob a more accurate term to how they felt, but calf exercises are easy, so tireds an excuse for school girls

I'm also convinced that cycling along with weightlifting helped me get much bigger calves.

that is crazy good.
mine are pretty much like your first pic, im finally staying high reps myself.
do u go full stretch on all the excercises? and do u stretch every day?

I'm also convinced that cycling along with weightlifting helped me get much bigger calves.

I do a stair mill (stair climber) for cardio. I basically hang my heel off the step and raise up when I step like doing calf raise - like climbing steps on your toes. I get a crazy pump from this and it's seems to have aided calf development over time.

It's basically light, ultra high rep which is just driving the blood into the muscle for an extended period of time and stretching the fascia like volume training / FST-7. I can see how this or cycling or even running would be a great adjunct to standard direct calf workouts with lower volume, higher weight.

i've started steady state uphill cardio recently and man i can tell you, you CAN actually build calves from doing cardio. i am making "gains" on the treadmill in terms of the incline i can handle without holding on to the treadmill itself. i try to challenge myself to increase the incline by .5 to 1.0 per week and i'm on for about 40-45 minutes per day. that plus higher rep range calf raises and i'd say you can definitely stimulate some growth over time. i don't think there is a "quick fix" for calves though.

^^ This.

I do a full-stretch donkey calf raise for 30-40 reps per set, then finish off with either bike or steep incline treadmill walking.
