Hi I'm 19 years old. I've been training for about 2 and a half years. I've ran two moderate cycles back in highschool and I'm just looking for any help or advice That could help lead me in the path of an IFBB pro. Thanks

Glad to see you made it ,this is an awesome forum to learn from

Hey guys this is my son, I do believe he is the real deal but way beyond any advice that I have
Hopefully someone can guide him along the way

Damn that's big boy. Do a diet before you decide your going pro. Once you get lean add as much lean muscle naturally as possible. You a long way from stage lean. See dieting for competition written by big a in the articles section for diet guidelines.

Why did you only allow him to do "moderate" cycles in high school. Those were his best years to start with heavy heavy AAS usage + slin and GH. :banghead:

Honestly, I only got involved in this about 4 months ago and just by not knowing
Anything I strongly disagreed with what he was doing
Now that I have been getting up with times so to speak, it's pretty interesting

Why in the hell would you want to be a IFBB pro?

That being said, and you'll hear this a lot, diet is the most important thing in this. When I started out I was like most, and didn't think it was, and I will tell you I was wrong, very wrong.

How many grams of protein, carbs and fat do you eat a day. The reason I ask is you probably don't know. Find out. Write down what you eat and how much of what you eat and when you eat it. Then start a new thread and post it so we can help.

this, I can't imagine it being a very rewarding lifestyle if that is where your income is coming from..

the amount of time, money, and effort involved to get a pro card seems like an unwise investment..

very high chance your son won't make enough to live on while pursuing that lifestyle..

and judging by his pics, if he really already has done a few cycles... it doesn't look like he has what it takes

I couldn't agree more with this...being an IFBB Pro just doesn't sound appealing to me for many reasons. I respect the amount of hard work those guys put in and I do think it's amazing what they're able to do with their bodies...but from a financial point of view it's a bad choice for most people (in my opinion at least). You're unlikely to make a living from it, you're better off keeping this as a hobby and focusing on other areas of your life.

It's also important to realize that regardless of how badly you want it and what you're willing to do for it you either do or do not have the genetics to pull it off. I've heard that anyone can reach pro-size if they're willing to push the envelope far enough but whether or not you have a Pro-Caliber physique at that point or not depends on genetics.

Why is it that every young kid thinks they can just make the decision to "GO PRO" one day? If it were that easy, everyone on PM would be there. We have people that have been training hard their whole life and it just hasn't happened yet. Kids need to realize bodybuilding is one step at a time and you don't just make a decision to go pro one day and tell your friends about it. He needs to come to reality and set a first goal like maybe competing in his first show then go from there. I agree that diet will triumph all especially in his beginning years. He needs to understand nutrition and learn proper training methods then introduce some mild cycles as he goes.
Inexperienced kids wind up in trouble with too much too soon.

I noticed someone said you were big, but that is only because they don't see all that fat and water weight I do. Do yourself a favor, go to college and forget being an IFBB Pro. This way, you might live a longer life.

Lol Pesty. Harsh but true. College for the win!

This is a quote from the A Pro and forum Owner;
And the link to a thread about the TRuth in BB...
I wont even go into the drug use or health issues but as a career you have to ask yourself :
How many guys in the world can make a living as a pro???????
So if you just play the odds its very very slim Probally less than many other sports that pay way more.... can you be 1????? "unlikely"
I wont preach sure Yr Father's done plenty of that with more to come
But look this thread over.

This site was always set up as an advanced site, where you can find TRUTHFUL information about bodybuilding, not bulshit and ideology promoted by people who generally have agendas.

This is the truth:

If your diet, training, health and rest are completely up to scratch, the more steroids you take, the bigger you will get. It's as simple as that.

Pros have got their diet, training (health for the most part) and rest up to a standard that works for them perfectly, but they are only the size they are due to the drugs they take. Don't beleive the crap from anyone, that they are not, even from the 'in the know' people that are on this board. Those very same people for the most part have used/use extremely higher dosages than what they preach. Why do they preach the low dosages? - various personal agendas.

Reality is that as a rule, 1g per week of test non stop year round is the 'off' time for the pros. Gear is added as it's obtained - no real detailed cycles as such. As long as they take the high dosages of gear, they'll grow (as long as the diet, training, health and sleep is up to scratch as mentioned previously).

Several grams of test per week, several grams of anabolics per week, up to 2g/week of tren, a shit load of orals, insulin several times a day year round, GH as much as can be afforded - 15 to 30IU/day, etc.

BUT, pros have the genetics to have their bodies accept the gear, and generally not get sick on it.

And ancilliary use is huge - liver aids to the max, anti-e's, dht blockers, cardio supps, cholesterol supps, etc.

Still, most of them are complete wrecks. They can't control bodily functions,
they pass out from walking a flight of stairs, they get drenched in sweat from tying their shoelaces. Gyno, baldness, dry skin, gout, excess bodily hair, acne, etc are ALL existant in virtually all of them.

It is not a healthy sport, drug use is ENORMOUS, but to ignore it and to preach otherwise is pathetic and not what this site is about.

BTW, Synthetek's books have on them who's who of current pros ordering Syntherol constantly. They ALL use it extensively. It is pathetic though, when one orders a bottle and their credit card gets declined due to not enough funds. You think a 30+ yo would have his life in order more than that.

Anyway, I'm sick of seeing the bullshit that has been promoted on this site the last few years. This site was originally set up as an uncensored place where you can find the truth about advanced performance enhancing, regardless of consequences. It's getting back to that.

thanks

Thanks for all the advice everyone had gave me. Yeah thinking about being a pro may be a while down the road considering I've never competed and I have never done a cutting cycle but im gonna take yalls advice and learn from it. Thanks guys

I don't think some people starting out have a clear view of what becoming a pro, really involves. It's not just doing cycles, lifting and eating. There's the whole business side of it. Repping. Getting a sponsor. Building fan base. Finding the amount of income that is needed to support this lifestyle. This is not a part time hobby. This is a 24/7 job. The sacrifices. The strain on friendships and relationships. The time that is consumed. It is a very selfish and self absorbed sport. Not saying that the person is bad intentioned. But, it's the nature of the sport. There is a lot to think about before pursuing that path. And the biggest, do you even have the genetics, or what it takes to dedicate to all that. It's a hobby for me. And I also benefit from my look, do to the nature of my business I own and run. But as far as a "pro" Thst will never happen for me. And I never would want that lifestyle. Everyone has a gift. i encourage everyone to find theirs. Just because you like BB, doesn't mean, you have that gift. Best of luck

thanks freddy.

Thank you for all the advice you just gave me. I'm in love with the sport of bodybuilding I just had no where to look, ask, or seek information more about the sport. Thanks again.
