Thoughts on Doing Classic?

I am hitting the gym hard again after blowing out my right knee and healing from a torn right bicep.

I have not ever competed in Classic Physique before because it wasn’t a class when I was originally considering competing. Just curious about how you guys would critique my current physique, and also curious about strategy.

I stay lean year round naturally but I am currently bulking.

I am 5’10” and weight 215 lbs in the morning.

This is the last 11 weeks of progress since hitting it hard again after the injuries.

As far as strategy goes. Would you go ahead and try to get Nationally Qualified and then go back into off season to prepare for a National Level Show? Or would you wait until you were competitive on a National Stage and then do a Qualifier and National Show back-to-back?

I think 100% you should do classic.....

from this one shot...(and would like to see more), that you would
do fuckin DAMAGE in classic physique.....

front relax....rear relax, would give us a much better look and assessment.

I have placed the most emphasis on my legs over the last 11 weeks. They were way behind due to my knee and needed serious attention. They have come up a lot but I believe they are still a long way off.

I also believe my back needs to thicken up and widen a bit. Obviously, with a torn bicep back training was impacted for almost 4 full months.

Just my opinion based on who I see doing well in that category.

Again, I appreciate any thoughts you guys have.

You have a great physique man. I think you’d kill it in classic. Impressive you can stay that lean while putting on size
 
I really appreciate all the feedback. I am somewhere between 5’10” and 5’11” so I am hoping that I can get into the 205 lb weight limit. I guess if 197 is all I get, I will be getting nasty to make weight because I am going to continue to add weight over the next couple months before I make a decision about prep. For now, it’s time to go keep shoveling in the food!

Did you run any gear after your surgery to get back to where you are now?
 
You look great, they don't even ask for the rear lat spread pose, which sucks because that's my best pose. (I did my first classic physique july of 2017) I think the limit is 192 at 5'10" if I remember correctly, you should double check... Also make sure that you get your height right, I think I might have shrunk a little in the past few years... But one quick pointer if you want to pm me, I have an idea... (I get a few spurts of brilliance here and there) I'd say it in the open, but I don't want anyone to catch on to it, then it'll do nobody any good...

But I think you'll do very well, they look for balance and definition, the way you look now, you'd place well... If classic physique is what you're after, i'd focus mostly on quality and getting as lean as possible, I don't really see any weak parts on you...
 
In my opinion you have a great physique for classic. You have that old school fullness/thickness they are looking for. Keep up the good work!
