Holy crap he was jacked for his era!!

Yes, this is a nice change. To see a bodybuilder live a nice full life is refreshing. Thanks for posting this.

I wonder if he would have traded in 50 years of his life for 150k Instagram followers and 40 more pounds of muscle.

I'm pretty sure he'd have quite a lot more followers with the physique he had than he'd have with 40 pounds of extra muscle on him. Most people don't like really big muscles, that's still mostly schmoe-territory.

RIP

Wow, how have I not heard of this guy? Impressive as hell!

Edit: 5'6.5" and hovered around 175, apparently. Motivation for us short guys.

This is one of those inspiring stories, there's nothing better than bodybuilding for life.

Now that's what I call living a good long life. If I live into my 80s, I be happy.

His era was when it was about moving iron! RIP

100% true but I am sure if he was a bodybuilder today he probably would have tried tren, hgh and everything else most BB's do. The difference in this guy is he weighed approx 175 pounds at 5ft6 he his hey day. Combined with probably extremely low drugs. These days you have guys his height hovering at almost 100 pounds heavier for large parts of the season taking probably 10 x more. It's definitely good to see a BB living a normal life and lasting a long time. Food for thought for the many of us.

Wow rest in peace brother. Good to see he lived a full life as a bodybuilder

Nice change!

I clicked on this expecting to see another young bodybuilder dying from heart failure but was pleasantly surprised to see he was in his 90s! This made my day.

Amazing. Any pictures if him in his later years. Would like to see how he he aged in his later years.
Take care.

Some info on the man's life after bodybuilding.

Bill Pearl was a contemporary and competitor of his. Bill pearl was my inspiration to start training at the age of 13.
