This happens more often than not. Run the newest ATI/AMD Radeon Catalyst driver instllation program and no matter what you do it Blue Screens right at the "Detecting Hardware" stage. No way to install or uninstall because you cant get past it.
A workaround is to go to AMD's site, and on the top right you will see "Find A Driver". Do the first drop down and select "Desktop Graphics". On the next select "Auto Detect and Install". Third, "N/A", fourth "N/A". click "View Results". The next page will be a small installation program that will detect and download your driver and install it. Yes, it will be the same exact name as the driver you already downloaded. Yes, the installation will look the same. the difference is that it will finally make it through the Detecting Hardware stage and finally allow for installation. I am guessing that the pre-installation program sends necessary command line switches to the setup program to tell it to detect the hardware differently. either way, as always ATI/AMD serves a very sub-par installation program.
