Microsoft Surface

My daughter wants a Surface from Santa. (She knows Santa is fiction) She believes the Surface would be better for school work than a Ipad. Better use of Microsoft office, USB ports. She likes the keyboard cover. Mobile internet is not important as I am already paying $90 a month for her Iphone. Bleh.

I haven't stumbled upon a store that carries them and the Surface reviews have left me a bit confused.

Great concept, but I'm waiting for the WIndows 8 version to come out before I buy. Your daughter is right, it would be more useful for school work and work-work for the reasons she gave. The hybrid tablet laptop features make it easily portable without sacrificing the traditional keyboard. I bought a targus keyboard case for my ipad for just that reason.

All that said, I would still wait for a full version of windows to make sure you get all the features and functions of the full OS. i guarantee MS put a LOT more money into testing WIndows 8 than WinRT.
