Im in college and use college internet. If i use this they wont be able to see why sites i visit?

I currently view sites like this on my phone to prevent college officals from seeing the sites i visit...but its annoying typing on a phone... Will a vpn protect my privacy like this? From my college administration from viewing my sites...

No that is only for college computers. I live in a dorm and i have my personal computer in it. But i use the colleges wifi and the password is my school id and pw... So they can monitor what i do... But if vpn blocks it, it wouls be nice
