What to eat on my roadtrip through America

This june my wife and I are going to America for a campertrip of 3 weeks.
We are very healthy eaters for obvious reasons and want to continue this habbit throughout the hollidays.

Maybe we got a bit of a wrong idea about America but we believe that it's hard to come by healthy food in the jungle of junk food. Is this true?
Or is it easy to buy good food at places like WallMart?
Got tips?

I think it's easy to get healthy food in any supermarket. It will only have higher prices.

first of all don't shop at Walmart....that place sucks!

In all the major cities you have tons of healthy places to grab a bite to eat. An app me and the wife use on our phone is Yelp. Has tons of places to eat and reviews in every city in the states pretty much. For cook in the RV kinda shit Sprouts is a great place for fresh produce and tons of healthy grass fed meats and organic shit. Then of course Whole Foods.

Whay do Wallmark and the similar sucks? The prices? or expired products? Or what is the reasons?

you can find anything if you are willing to spend some extra cash. Also you could stop in smaller cities and get supplies from the locals.

If you go through the south make sure to try as many BBQ places as possible

Trader Joes
Whole Foods Market
Fresh Market
Harris Teeter
Hannaford

What areas will you be traveling? If you come up to the mid Atlantic you need to get some Maryland blue crabs! Don't get them at a restaurant, buy them from a crab vendor by the beach. They usually have small stores but all they do are crabs...

Atlantic rockfish are also really good. A dense yet tender white fish...

Not sure how popular they are where you are from but mussels cooked in white wine and garlic are incredible. They are tender and sweet with a slight brine that I find amazing

If you'll be doing a lot of your own cooking, look for local farms in the areas you'll be in and experience the way different meats taste from different parts of the country
