Hey folks. Wanted to ask a couple of questions to the experienced ladies of the board.
First off, my fiance has some issues with her knees. Due to a sports related injury a few years ago, she now has minimal, if any, cartilage in her knees. She's been advised not to squat, leg press, run, anything moderate-heavy impact. Before I moved cities, we made great progress in the gym together. She's bummed that she can't train legs the same. My question is what are ways to get the big compound leg movements in with these stipulations? I thought of Stiff Legged deads for posterior chain, various curls and extensions for isolations, and calve exercises. Am I missing anything?
And second, she wants to lose some weight (which she really doesn't), but keeps wanting to try these new fangled diets and crazy cardio to get it off. She constantly struggles with the societal influence of "If I lift weights I'll look bulky" thing too. Anything I can do to help her out? I'm constantly encouraging, always trying to offer help and cook with her. Even cooked a week's food for her. She's motivated to lose it for the wedding, which is great for her. Just want to make sure she's doing it safe and maximizing her potential. I just want her to be happy.
So, after all that, any insight y'all can offer would be fantastic. I really appreciate it all!
