almost all tilapia is farm raised...personally i dont like farm raised seafoods after watching many specials on how dirty and disease infested the conditions are that the animals are raised in...they actually douse the water with scoops of antibiotics pellets to kills off disease when they arise...also the speed at which these modified fish are raised cannot contain the right amount of nutrients that they have in natural habitat growing at correct pace in wild

I rotate my fish and chicken meals... So chicken is the standard, then I rotate what every fish I pick up at cosco: snapper, talpia, cod salmon...

If you think about it, although (from being fed corn and their own feces) tilapia is higher in omega-6 than omega-3, its important to consider that the fat content of each serving of fish is very low. Some of that fat is saturated, some monounsaturated and some polyunsaturated. Of the x% thats polyunsaturated, yes its mostly omega-6...but IMO not enough to mess up anyone's daily ratio unless they are eating pounds and pounds of the stuff along with other crappy O-6 containing foods.

Obviously any wild fish is better than a farm fish. Fishes like flouder, fluke and sole tend to be better sources regardless, however I think people worry a bit too much about tilapia's ill effects. If presented with a better option, go for it, if not I wouldn't worry.
