Longest time you’ve had to take off from the gym? How was the comeback?

I’ll end up having to take off a full month of no training due to work. I’m taking it as an extended deload and letting my body fully rest up.

In the meantime, thoughts on running DNP at 200mg only doing cardio for 1-2 weeks until I can get back in the gym? Or no cardio?

1 month. Don't worry about it. Power lifters will go at least a week without training just to get their strength up for a meet. couple weeks after you are back in the gym you will be back to where you were.

Kinda what I thought.

Debating the DNP just to tighten up a tad before going for size again. May hold off. I dunno.

Longest for me was a year. I got knee surgery and then went back to college. My comeback was slow for the first 3-4 weeks but after that all I started gaining much more rapidly. I wouldn't worry about 1 month though. Enjoy and let your body relax and heal. You'll be fine.

Was off for years. Come back was awesome but took a few weeks to get back into the rhythm; getting the feel for it and what not.

Cardio and low dose DNP is fine. Do the cardio or not, really doesn't matter. Everyone is different. At 200mg I personally had no side effects. Cardio capacity and lethargy didn't really set in until 400mg and above.

Longest time off has been 2.5yrs due to back injury. Took me awhile to get back in the swing of things but I was basically starting from scratch all over again and I'm also older than most of the members here.

I've also taken a month off here and there over the years and within 3-4wks of starting back up I'm seeing steady noticeable progress.

It seems for me that the time I take off from the gym usually equates to how long it takes me to gain back whatever I lost. So two weeks off, two weeks to get back to where I was.

I had an accident years ago and didn't rain for 18 months. When I went back I struggled to bench 100lbs but fast forward to now, I'm bigger, leaner, and stronger than ever.

I would just take the time off and let it be. Get some cardio in because it's good for your body anyways, and forget about the DNP. Just my two cents though, sometimes a step backwards and out allows you to make even more progress when you come back

Not to say that the world will come to an end if you take the one month break, but have you thought about doing push-ups and buy a cheap pull-up bar for a doorway?

I don't like taking breaks because I like to train and something can always be done, but a week here and there will only give you benefits.

If you have never experienced DNP, it may be a good time to play with the doses.

Over a year n half due to accident. 233lbs before 168 after. 3 months in hospital bed is not a good thing.
