starting an non-for profit

anybody on here every start a non-for profit? What is the wait time for tax exempt status from the IRS? I`m slightly concerned with the IRS delays, but I will be non-political, not associated with tea party, that should eliminate some delays

I have incorporated in my state before and its no big deal to do, did you feel you needed a money vacuum, blood sucker.... I mean attorney to help with the federal side of things?

Was it easy to get state/federal grants or private donors?

Yes you are dealing with the IRS. They make their own rules.

You are on the IRS time bud. they make their own rules and do what they want. they really have no motivation also with all of the threats of shutting down the government because this is one of the first agencies to shut down. or they might just be too busy auditing republican fund raising parties...

I know I'm late on this - when ever you n need any help from IRS- drive to were they are and talk in person. Just be nice - they are pretty nice most of the time and very willing to help
