What is a good laptop you guys recommend for small business. It needs to keep up with scanning receipts, excel, word, .mp3 file playback, and some video editing.

It DOES NOT need to keep up with playing games or porn ;-). LOL

Price range Sub 1200$ would be great.

For that range I think you be fine. Video editing could be consuming, if you edit FULL HD 1920/1080 videos, but usually QUAD-CORE CPU, 8GB of RAM and video on board should be fine.

something at least dual core or higher....but this makes a difference
if this laptop will be "unplugged" a lot....or plugged in most of the time.
quad core will take the battery life much faster....8gb....i7

and you should be good.....you will get what you pay for.

i will never buy a mac....but when i go to buy one i don't even look
at anything under 500$

If you can afford, get your laptop with SSD HDD. The best way to feel your computer real fast.

SSD is good, but they are very expensive and with shorter lifespan than hard disk drives. Unfortunately, the flash memories of a SSD can only be used for a finite number of writes.

Yeah, but that finite number is really big. I can't go back to the old spinning drives, personally.

Buy a Macbook, more reliable and a heck loads of extra battery time. Other then that anything around Core i5 should do. Most of the laptops only perform at peek for max of 2 years whereas macbook performs for longer.
I know 2 years sound alot but it goes quickly.

Make sure you go no less than a 240GB SSD and 8GB RAM. Likewise, don’t pay for anything less than a 13 inch screen size. Maybe Toshiba Satellite S55-B5280 or ASUS ROG GL552VW-DH71.
