Hi,
What benefits to use a Metal Catapult (slingshot),
((METAL Black Catapult - GOMETAL.COM)) , if lifting
Raw ? Do it help to get the max up in raw ?
How to use it in training ?
Ill just brought one to see how it works, and from what i
noticed, it was near close to bench with a benchpress shirt on !
Worked up to 6x 220kg raw witout the slingshot, and then after
that 6x 250kg felt wery easy with the slingshot/catapult on !
Did not try any maxes.
 
IMO, the benefit for raw is mostly neurological. Trains your brain what heavy feels like. This more important than people give credit. Think about that first week you went to the gym, then that next week when all your lifts were 30+ % stronger. Your muscles didn't get 30% stronger in a week, your brain just developed a better ability to signal to your muscles.

I'm sure also it recruits the involved muscles differently, so you might get a slight training effect out of it. Dunno if this would carry over to raw but it couldn't hurt.
 
What i have noticed is that at least, the tris gets hitted hard with the catapult. Mutch harder for me than with normal narrow grip example, so for them i keep on doing some extra reps with the catapult. Perhaps it helps allso the max, we see with time.
 
I think it CAN help but it can also provide a false sense of security. I had to switch back to 2 and 1 board presses because it just wasn't doing the right things for me.
