I will always care more about regular deads and do them as one of my main lifts. I was wonder what you guys thought about trap bar deads for quad development and just building up traps and higher reps. Keep fucking up my back in squats. Going to low and losing extention

Its never gonna replace squats for quad development. I like them though and use them when my deadlift stalls. Doing trap bar deads and normal deads in the same week will beat your body up quite a bit.

Have you tried the vertical leg press for quads? Better than squats for me as I tend to use more glutes when I squat

Same as Hazzle here, i use em every now and then, tbh i never get my back sore as hell with DOMS as when i use the trap bar, absolutely love it! but doing powerlifting I need to keep upto scratch with the oly bar....pity as I can dead more with the trap bar lol

I really rate them for hitting quads off the floor then hitting the back and trap on upper part.

Great tool for overall back development, nice and heavy though!

How is your form with them? Do you do them with with a pretty horizontal back and not much a knee bend? Thans the way I do both them and regular deads.

On regular deads my knees are only bent enough to keep my back in extension. Thanks.

yes mate more or less, try for same action as with a proper dead but obviously hand position is different, i think it actually works my back better but need to do oly bar majority of time.

Erect the spine and get low... U can make this lift into a quad lift

Honestly I can't believe I made this thread. I was frustrated with squats and form and repeat injuries to my sensitive back. I tried the trap bar a few times again,It sucks compared to
Real deads.
I'm not interested in using it any more it any more. It was good a few years ago to use when I wasn't flexible enough to dead or squat. I built nice quads doing them upright.
Thanks
