fucking tore my quad at the meet yesterday. so pissed. i really expected to be on the podium until this...watch the left knee at the bottom. if you read my lips at the same time my knee goes forward i say "what the fuck!" i thought someone punched my in the thigh while i was descending. seriously i thought it was a punch!! one of the spotters said he heard it. he thought my shorts got caught on something.

im fucked a for a little while. going to the orthopedic surgeon on monday to see whats going on in there. its swollen as fuck and i cant bend my leg without sever pain. i can walk on it so im hoping for the best. i just got out of bed, ive got it all wrapped up so im not sure how it looks this morning. as of last night there was no bruising yet just lots of swelling. this is from last night...

Really wish that I'd not watched that clip....I did something similar many moons ago...I was also going deep and fast into the hole....

its good to know people. i already have an appointment with the best orthopedic surgeon in town tomorrow morning at 930. its nice when you get a call on a sunday morning from a friend saying "hey, get your ass in to see dr. x first thing tomorrow morning. you will be on his schedule as first patient he sees when he walks in the door"! :headbang:

the more reading and research i do all fingers are pointing to a torn quadricep tendon. suuucks!
 
saw the ortho yeterday morning, mri yesterday afternoon. follow up appt with orth friday morning.
heres the mri reading. not looking great!

heres the link to the results. i had to bench and dl with a fucked up leg. my head was not in it for the bench because i tried to dl a 45lb bar abd couldnt. after the bench platform i decided to try a straight leg dl. i got 415 like a walk in the park. im sure i would have hit 500lbs if i wast a gimp!

i was shooting for top 3. with my 315 bench and a 500lb DL i sould have been there. i expected a top 5 at the least and took a top eight with a fucking tore to shit left quad!! ill take it!

It looks like you squat down very quickly in order to utilize the stretch reflex.
that could be a factor in why you tore your quad.
 
your probably right. ive heard it a million times but that is how i have always squatted. i guess once im recovered i will work on a lower descent.
