Lowfat diet offseason and insulin

Ran humalog a few times before pre and or post workout. And loved it. Avoided fats pre and post w/o. Planned on running 4 weeks on 4 weeks off type of deal. wanting to add lantus for the offseason. how low of fats have you been able to get a way with?? and for how long? to avoid as much fat gain in the offseason. Any insight is great, thanks

I don't think fat should be worried about tbh. I would reduce intake around insulin use, but a little bit of fat with carbs will keep your glucose levels more stable. This will reduce the chances of "going hypo" unexpectedly. I'd stick with humilin R also. I'd rather get the nutrients in around when their needed like filling back out, or refeeds.

I'd use a glucose meter and experiment. Between your off weeks I'd utilize cinnamon, chromium, berberine or metformin. DNP works well for this also but I wouldn't advise if your inexperienced.

When I run Lantus I have a few added fats with meals 1 & 6 (usually 1 tablespoon natty PB). My training is after meal 3 so the other fats are just "trace" fats from chicken, turkey, and 96% lean burger or fillets. It's worked well and been able to stay lean and full with this method. I will usually do a cheat meal Sunday night- anything goes.
