I am often asked what does rhodiola do...

This tread is going in a wrong direction so I am out.

I guess I shouldn't have mentioned weed. I was just curious so I asked him. I just think when someone is taking large doses of various 'mind' drugs and smoking large amounts of weed everything will be skewed. I didn't mean to derail the thread at all.
 
That makes sense you can take 3 scoops of one and 1 scoop of the other. What is your ideal ratio?

How many mg is in one scoop?

You can sell it in caps too? How many mg are in each cap?

I was being very general, I don't have any special scoops, just mix at whatever ratio you want, that way you can play with it if you have say a 100g bag of each. I do not think you will notice ANY difference in real world. I do not think in reality you will see or feel any difference in taking all one, all the other, or a special ratio.

we do have caps, I think most are around 300mgs

LK3 I am curious if you could list out everything you take in a given day. I love your posts but you do intrigue me because I remember you stating you smoke loads of weed and I have seen many of your posts were you state you are taking large doses of various products. How do you know what is doing what? Do you have a base of supplements you take through the year then add new things so you can gauge their effectiveness?

( a bit long and rambling but trying to give a good and relevant answer )

I am not going to derail this talking about cann I will talk about it a little as for real it is a vital supplement for me, really I think that is the true place it holds in things.

in regards to dosing of all things I am not obsessively accurate.in general my house is filled with viplock bags filled with various powders nothing is labeled, no vials are labeled just lots of seemingly random stuff that few would be able to identify, lol.

I use a small spoon and dose out powders, every now and then I sit down with a scale and all my powders and check my weights, so atleast I know the general area im in. I am actually quite accurate, I just wanted this part to be clear since people have a tendency to obsess over minute details, they are not so relevant in this case.

i try to stay on the following list of things, i often run out 1-3 times a year so i take a little break while waiting for something new. i have also run out due to various life complications, so that shouldbe taken into account as well.

i do use 10-20g ed of cann. this is my most vital mood supplement. i really cannot say just how important this has been for me and how the various issues associated with it have effected my life over the years. i have used similar amounts for easily 10 years. if using correctly i have no mental effect, it takes about 4 weeks to adjust if stopped. i have zero of the effect that other people use this for and do not really like how that feels, i also really dislike people who are using this supplement in that nature, just like i don't like to hang out with drunk people.

all of what i do in terms of diet/training/sups is really for my head and trying to find a functional happy sort of life.

when i was young before i could play sports i had lots of problems in school and behavior and all kinds of things like that. once i was able to play sports i and my parents noticed was much better, acting feeling, etc.

i learned as i went on that activity was super important to me, mentally and physically.

i had lots of ups and downs also changed weight a lot, 170-300lbs.

in my early 20s i went to the dr for some problems, i couldn't sleep, didn't feel right was starting to get psoriasis, all kinds of shit was off.

the dr was horrible, gave me plenty of shitty meds, they had all kinds of crazy effects but gave up on all that real quick and started looking into other things.

played with every sup imaginable at the time, hired dc to help me with training, he was also really helpful with health sups, around this time is also when i really got into learning about body, brain, chemistry etc...

i had real problems sleeping, a friend had left some cann at my house after we had gone out, i had not really used since i was a kid but a cpl rand drunk times for whatever reason i tried it to help sleep one night and was amazed at how well it worked. after that i started using regularly for sleep.

this was a time in my life when i was like supplement obsessed my kitchen looked like vitamin shoppe, i was always very analytical introducing various things and took the same approach with cann.

it was also around this time when i started having more head problems, diagnosed bipolar and borderline personality disorder and all that go with it...

at some point i forget what i t was but had to go to some stressful event. my whole life i have had an explosive temper that caused me a LOT of problems. i was nervous as to what might happen so i smoked before i went. i found i was much better able to control my behavior. this is how i started using cann at other times. again a very cause and effect analytical approach. ( dr's would have me living on kpin... )

im jumping around a lot here but what im trying to show you guys is WHY i do what i do.

it is not for some general health "idea" it is not because it looks good on paper, its because i have to deal with some very real things that have a drastic impact on the quality and span of my life.

i have done a lot of stupid things, i try and learn form what i have done but i know i will continue to do stupid things. the medical diagnosis i have while not something like cancer increases the chance of me dying quite a bit on paper, like 5x more then a normal person. but wtf does that mean?

the realty of that means that there is a really good chance that one of my dumbass actions gets me killed, there is a really good chance of that, its actually sort of a miracle that it has not happened yet, by my actions or my own hand.

i have known this for some time and have been quite active in trying to fix it, i make jokes about a lot of this shit but it isn't easy being not normal. i am always working on my head, thought process and actions.

learning all of this is why i was interested in the supplements i take, they address these real problems that i have on paper, lots of things do but in the real world these make a substantial enough difference that i can actually see feel and measure.

some of that is measured by my ability to not be such a psyco, i know what that is on the inside but it is also easy to tell by how others react to me... lol

so the basis of all my supplementation is to fix the problems, not be a psyco, not get sick ( i used to get sick a lot and you cant train when youre sick ) then if something has added performance aspects even better.

i am in this for the long haul, been on necessary trt since 25, ill be on for life, as stated i NEED the activity, im not good at just doing something, training with weights is the one thing i can do that allows me to push myself to extremes and limit the incidence of sever injury, thus allowing me to continue! i think that why weights are so appealing. ( fighting sports are fun but longevity limited.. lol)

after years of this, sports and destructive life i have lots of injuries, bumps bruises and joint issues from psoriasis.

i live on the following:

test 100-300mg wk
i do take breaks during the year but not for too long, just enough to get over being tired of pinning

anastrozole depends on test dosing

Cialis low dose, circulation, and all the fun stuff

resveratrol 400 ish mg wk this dose so many cool things, its all in theory but since using i stay leaner with no work i also don't get sick and recover like a mofo feel way better on then off. seems to help my psoriasis but not directly. i come off when i run out. taking a week or two break form shots right now, which i do 2-3 times a year. since 2009

curcumin as much as i can tolerate and afford. makes all mypains go away, high doses make me much fuller, i don't get bruises except for blood under skin. since 09-10

glutathione 600mg wk. higher if sick or liver stress. i don't get sick when i stayon, that's enough for me. important for brain function plus all the rest. i fear running out. 2010

SOD 2500iu wk more when sick or stressed feeling. addsmore to the not getting sick part. been using this since 2007.

rho, been using this for 4+ years at high doses. major impact on mood. i notice it more after years of using.

idebenone started using in 2005ish for skin issues i see much more impact on high doses, close to 1g ed. i feel rho more in the head though, i feel less muscle soreness with this.

grape seed extract 4+ years, no noticeable feel.

when i stopped this combo i had a terrible psoriasis flare up that did not go away until back on.

using this has made my skin almost completely clear, if i come off it gets worse. i try and stay on. psoriasis is really ugly.

zinc 150mg ed 50mg each

magnesium taurate 1g+ if stressed more or if taking niacinamide

potassium citrate, i notice when i stop taking it my stomach feels worse, also helps regulate ph, which is important.

d3 various does.

i also stay on some sort of dopamine agonist i try to rotate them. right now using prolactin-x and stephania intermediary. both are quite strong dopamine sups, the steph will make me manic ifi take too much. getting this part right really helps with mood, can also make you crazy horny... other times i might rotate caber, prami or things like that. i have tried coca leaves but they were not as interesting for this and performance as i had hoped.

melatonin 10-50mg, helps me sleep and is good for so many things.

if i take out parts of this i notice it, i feel different or my skin gets worse, its very clear to see.

As I mentioned you intrigue me and posts like that are why. Good stuff and it's interesting to see how you go about things... organized craze. Now I have my own place I try to clean it tidy etc. But when I just had a room it was a mess but I knew where exactly everything was :D

Why do you take so much zinc? Mainly for your skin and recovery?

Have you ever tried to come off the dopamine agonists? How did you feel? I am enjoy caber now. Prami is incredible but the difference in the chance of a great experience to a terrible one can be a fine line (dose).

The antioxidants definitely interest me so I will try some out soon. My protein provider has resveratrol in powder form (very expensive) but obviously inject would be much better. I will have to hit you up one time for one of them.

I have used Rhodiola twice but I need to give it another go. I know it is a great supplement but I think I took too much the first time round. Second time round I took it with ashwagandha and simply felt off so stopped it within a few days. I think I still have the caps somewhere but will probably have to buy more as this was a long time ago. Thanks again.

Exactly. I just thought I would ask as that's how I saw it. I did think I hope he doesn't take it the wrong way. The fact he didn't shows a lot. I was genuinely just curious and glad I asked now. The thread actually makes me want to try Rhodiola again. I could definitely do with it!

i try to be as honest as i can with stuff, i am here originally just to learn and we can learn a lot form each other if we are honest.

my whole house isn't littered with all this anymore, i have it confined to hidden corners, my gf has a little kid so has to be sort of low key. at other times i have had a room for all my stuff. lol

zinc is for cns.
cns is stressed due to psoriasis and training. i think in general our lifestyle requires more nutrients. i also drink lots of water.

i do actually come of d agonists and rotate them. i don't usually stay off for too long as they do help quite a bit.

last year i got a little out of hand with things so much of the end of 2014 was recovery... lol

i fried myself pretty good so really im just feeling more back to normal now. i usually try and back off the dopamine stuff when i notice i am too amped up or too manic, i like to stay in like a hypo manic state, that way i am happy and productive.

i really like prami and caber but do not like the long term side effect potential. that's why i was after something natural, the stephania, finding it was the problem.

the antiox stuff is really freaking amazing, but also it goes into all the rest, for example sod levels are markers for major mental episodes, they all help better deal with stress and allow the brain to function at a higher level.

the mouse stuff touches this and there was a video recently with a guy talking about keto diet and navy seals and oxygen problems.

i have no proof that the theoretical stuff works but i can tell you the body i am in is not the same one that i grew up in, like mentally and physically, there are changes and they continue, like weird shit... the theory stuff does seem to have some truth.

the performance aspects are also very real.

keep in mind when you try supplements what i keep saying about quality. i am sure there are good quality products out there, i have just found other ones to be much better.

the other thing is dosing, you see what some people say and you see what i say. i say i get noticeable results, i am taking many times the recommended doses, for long periods of time before deciding.

i would say it took me 3 months to see results from rho, but that is to SEE some sort of difference like on my skin.

now when i run out i feel a much bigger difference. this is sort of like the D agonist thing, i feel different, not as good, sucks a little and requires more effort to act the way i need to in normal life, i get a little more extreme reactions occasionally, after more time my skin gets worse. that is about the extent, i don't go into some bed locked depression.

About 10 years ago I was working in a retail supp shop and I remember when Enzymatic Therapy came out with Rhodiola. At the time they were to first major brand to start promoting it to my store and thus us to our customers. Product was so effective and worked so quickly compared to other adaptogenic herbs such as the various ginsengs that it became my go to recommendation for those with lack of energy and fatigue. For me at the time it was as effective as the mahuang without the jitters.

LK3 have you found that theanine varies from brand to brand because I have yet to try one that did not make me feel crabby and rundown. I have tried at least 5-6 brands including Sun Theanine. Doses have ranged from 100mg up to 1g plus. Might just be something I do not jive with. Thank you.

its kind of big bright white fluffy powder with a sweet taste.

I think for some people too much serotonin can be a bad thing, they just don't need it and adding more impacts mood poorly. other people who may have less in there body react well as they are below optimal levels and adding more helps.

one thing I look at is anadrol, it hits serotonin too. I feel GREAT on it!

I look at this as potentially due to serotonin factors.

some people feel like shit with it, I feel this could also be due to the same effect.

how do you feel on drol?

I think this is true of many supplements, people sort of blindly take stuff based on some reading they do not necessarily get optimal effects as they don't take it all into account.


I have spoken with a lot of people seeking... "alternative" help with fibro if you and your wife ever have questions in that area feel free to pm me.
 
Never tried Drol. I know I feel better on St. Johns, tianeptine and selegiline(not all at the same time) all of which increase serotonin directly or indirectly. I also used to feel pretty awesome on a certain rec that is notorious for serotonin release(something I have not done in ten years for the record and will not be again simply using as an example.) So an increase in serotonin does not negatively effect me.

As for the taste I tossed the last bottle due to the poor mood it put me in. I will have to order some the next go around for other VR supplies.
 
Ok I will give it one last shot lol. I also like dopamine that's why I was using selegiline and CDP choline for a while. I did some serious damage to my dopaminergic system some years back. Had extreme anhedonia, total lack of ability to concentrate, loss of all sex drive, I was a mess. Selegiline REALLY helped me.

prmai and caber also work well for dopamine.

I have some stephania intermediary powder its a D1 and D2 agonist, super strong dopamine effect, off of very small doses, very hard to find though.

the prolactin-x aslo hits dopamine pretty good.
been taking that the last 3 months or so.
forgot to mention that in my sups! lol
and the steph, stopped it for a while and recently started again as I taper off the prolactin-x.

Does anyone exp headaches with rhodiola ?? Every now and then I get bangin headaches. Makes me want to bin it but I m hoping its my body adjusting to it & will hopefully eventually go away

had migraines my entire life, my sup regime basically makes them none existent...

never had a headache from rho...
