Body weight vs Frame

Does weight depend more on the person's frame, or is the standard rule of thumb for weight according to height (bodybuilder wise) still more accurate?

I've always had a tiny frame, I used to disappear in clothes as a child. Some guys on here like Big Dave Smith weigh a lot, and he's a big dude for sure, but I think he himself said he's never been below 225 since he was 16.

Some guys look like they weigh more than they are, and others are the complete opposite. I guess if you're big you're big, no frame is hiding 240+ lbs of lean muscle.

At 6'1" and 190, shirtless I looked 220 at least I reckon.

Like you, I've got a small frame. I look small in clothes. It's all mostly genetics.

the best bodybuilders are those that look like they weigh 20-30 lbs more than then their actual weight

Yes you look much more than 190 there. I'm smaller frame too, so have the same issue. Good job bodybuilding is about the look, not weight numbers.

I legit feel like I have dense bones or something.

I definitely don't look like what I weigh at 6'2, at least I feel.

reminds me of a pic Queef posted (may he RIP)

was him and Nick Trigili

same height, same weight.... Trigili looked WAY bigger

IIRC, Queef said that it was pretty much 'at that point that he realized he wouldn't make it as a pro'.

I've always had a big frame...A gallon of Milk a day for 48 yrs will do that to-ya.
6'2 @ 250

I cant believe your 190lbs @ 6'1" and still look bIG.

It's this fact that makes me feel better about weighing as much (little) as I do but seem to look bigger standing next to people.

There is still hope for me yet.

So many variables and B-Trotters pic above proves it's not just about height (him being 6ft 1 and looking about well over 230). Although tall guys will always look smaller in pics alone. A good example could be me when I was much younger and skinny and I would still need an XL in tops. Then there was my mate who was shorter and fairly well built and would wear a medium. I couldn't even get his tops on over my shouders but he would have looked bigger to most people.

There are guys I could post their pic and people would say he is big and I completely dwarf them. Bodybuilding is an illusion and as someone stated above the best bodybuilders tend to be the ones that look bigger than they really are. They are the ones with the superior genetics, great muscle shape, insertions, roundness etc.

maybe hes got no legs....

theres a GOOD DAMN reason why people don't look what they actually
weigh....

there is something to the whole thing though.....ive always weighed less
than Ive actually looked.....

I know I posted this pic before.....but look at the size of everyone here...
it still blows my mind that this line up is a heavyweight line up....

Na, I've got legs. Leg day is my favourite day actually.

And it's true, "any dickhead can angle a selfie to look huge," but that dickhead still has to have an appreciable amount of muscle. It doesn't just appear out of thin air.

Wrists are 6.5", knees just over 7"... Although I look much bigger than I weigh when stripped down, next to the guy above who's 6'2" 250 I'd be dwarfed.
