I'd be asking for references for those studies before taking a newspapers word for it.
That's a pretty bold claim to say that asprin can almost double the risk of suffering a heart attack.
Considering that as a first responded, one of the first things we do when we suspect the person is having a heart attack is administer asprin, among other things, (provided they're not allergic to it or have any bleeding disorders)
Some food for thought though, there could be other studies out there which could confirm this and ill happily be proven wrong for the sake of learning a thing or two
