i've done the follwoing to lower cortisol...but its still high; diet w/ no processed foods and lots of greens, excercise regularly, more frequent/but smaller injections of test, relaxation techniques...deep breathing. I have not incorporated a suppliment, but I'm thinking I may need too. Any thoughts on which suppliment would assist the best. Been reading about zinc, magnesium, fish/krill oil, tumeric. I know i need something that will be an anti-inflamatory. Appreciate any feedback...thnx

How do you know its high?

Did you do a morning test or a 3/4 point day test?

What are the levels

I've had 1 blood test done at 6am...i wake up at 5am. It was at 41. My doc wants to do another test, different type and then also a 24hr. UA collection.

The 24 hour test will give you a better idea of the total daily levels.

How much sleep are you getting, you said you wake up at 5am which could mean you are not getting 8+ hours per night.

Before taking supps make sure you are sleeping enough, 9-10 hours sleep for a few month and I bet your levels will be in range and don't get too stressed.

Sleep and stress will have a far greater impact than anything else

I get 7-8 hrs. a night. I have a sleep monitoring system that monitors my level of sleep...light, med. heavy etc. I'll change my wake up time to 6am...see if that makes a difference. Im not really under a lot of stress. Jobs mellow, not in a relationship, moneys good and decent sex life. Thanks for the input brother.

Stimulants could also raise coritsol, try keeping caffeine down to 200mg/day or less if you are using any.

Also dont get the tests done after intense training, take a few days from working out before next test

Vitamin C, Phosphatidyserine (I believe you have to take 900 mg, not sure), or 7- keto.

It would be interesting to see if you tried Humanofort if you saw any change in cortisol levels. I would love to see a test.

found this...i may give it a try...need to do a bit more research though...

From the single published study found on the effect of Humanofort on humans, it was found that 6 days of supplementation resulted in a reduction of insulin and cortisol levels as well as an improvement in lipid profiles. High insulin levels can be an issue which can progressively lead to the development of diabetes, whilst increased cortisol levels; the so called stress hormone, can result in an increase in fat storage and blood sugars. High cholesterol as many would already know can predispose you to the development of cardiovascular diseases. As such, any improvements in insulin, cortisol and lipid levels can help lower the risk of experiencing future health issues.

Research studies are hard to come by….
