Maldorf and others thought this would be interesting to you

Nice, something other than stem cells

Never heard of the Hippo pathway. Nice to see a new idea. Up to now it has all been stem cells. I was going to enter a stem cell study but an echo showed the walls of my heart are too thin where I had my heart attack. If they were to inject stem cells there it would go all the way through the wall and I would probably bleed out.

I wonder how they inhibit this pathway.

"The researchers think the effect of turning Hippo off is two-fold. On one side, it induces heart muscle cells to proliferate and survive in the injured heart, and on the other side, it induces an alteration of the fibrosis."

This is awesome, thanks for posting.

Incredible! I read the whole thing but wonder how they "turned off" the Hippo? Gene manipulation or some kind of drug intervention?

My first thought as well. Going to look a little deeper and see if I can find the regulatory mechanisms for the hippo pathway
