Fish at Work

I have had a few bad experiences with heating fish up at work. Has anyone figured out a way around this? Just eat it cold?

Depends on the type of fish. I have reheated tilapia with no issues, but it's a mild fish . I just microwave long enough to warm it up with a paper towel across the top of an open container, and sprinkle with old bay seasoning.

Just heat it up and tell people who complain to buck up.

However, if you just warm it up rather than heat it completely it will smell less.

Or just eat it cold on a salad like I do.

Put cinnamon on it. You're welcome :)

Bad experience how??

Personally I prefer it warm , if the smell is offensive to people then you could warm it somewhere else or just tell people to deal with it.

Pissy coworker:"your fish stinks , it makes me sick"
Me: "your cheap perfume stinks and your fatness makes me sick"

Cook it 50% the day before and finish it in the microwave. Fuck anyone who complains

LOL it's offensive to everyone. I used to heat mine up at work and people would lose their minds.

Unfortunately in this PC world we haven't yet reached equality for fish-microwavers.

Agreed. It's a unwritten law.

You shouldn't.

However, yes, you can always do WTF you want as well. It's just not the ideal protein to heat up in a office environment.

I like my salmon cold anyhow on a salad the next day.

Leave it out and eat it at room temp?

If you have to have it warmed up unplug the microwave get an extension cord and take the bitch outside!

Poached fish reheats pretty well without drying out. Same with fish baked in parchment paper

lol yes shit like this. Im so sick of hearing people bitch about my food choices. Its been going on for years. One year they almost evacuated a wing of the building due to heating up my salmon. The smell of fish makes people crazy. Has anyone used a smoker and then ate it cold. I remember being somewhere in Michigan and they were selling smoked salmon cold at gas stations and shit like that.

i agree with these statements here.

i hate like hell when some of the ethnic (read---->asian/middle-eastern folks) heat up some of their dishes b/c [to me] they do smell repulsive as hell, but it's their thing, i guess.

but i personally don't wanna subject folks to my re-heated shrimp/fish smell lol.
plus, like was mentioned already, all the damn microwaves are always taken so i just eat everything room temp, anyway being that it's several time/day anyway

shit just eat it, I take 3 meals to work and never put in the fridge, fish, chicken, tuna, when I'm ready to eat, I just open container and eat
