after doing some research i was under the impression it was ok for the liver. However i just got a call after having my blood work done last week that the results were in the mail, but the doctor wanted me to come back in a month to check my liver values as they were abnormally high. I ask about the mk as its the only pill i am taking other than standard vitamins.

I will post all my blood work once i get it as well.

Did you cease all supplements including protein powder at least one week before bloods and all training two weeks before bloods?

no i didn't stop anything just fasted from the evening before (12 hours)
will protein affect the liver values in blood work for him to be concerned? i generally consume about 140-150 grams protein from shakes and another 125-150 grams of protein from food per day. I currently weigh 218

I recall reading somewhere that mk677 can have a negative impact on the liver. Not sure where though.

MK isn't liver toxic.

However, a high protein diet and intense training can SIGNIFICANTLY elevate liver values--outside the normal range--and most doctors don't take this into consideration.

ill post my blood #'s when i get them in the mail and everyone can tell me if i should be concerned or not.

Why would you falsify your labs to make things look good on paper. If you are living day to day, you should see what your labs look like... day to day.

Making it look like you're healthy, while you're in-fact deteriorating is simply lying to yourself.

Intense training and high protein diets can skew labs. Bun and Cr in particular... ALT/ AST should not be significantly impacted - a slight elevation is usually meaningless, if you are 10x reference range see a specialist, as it has nothing to do with your MK, or your training. If your doctor doesn't understand that you workout, and eat a certain way, and does not take all of that into consideration - find a new primary; they exist.

This is me. When I get bloodwork, I'm typically unfasted and already had a training session in that day. The only markers they ever see slightly elevated are Bun and CRE. Sometimes my glucose is skewed, but like I said I'm not fasted and have blood drawn sometimes very close to actually having finished my Postworkout shake. My MD knows what I do, and tells me I'm fine.

As for glucose, he just ordered an A1C once to test and it came back in the mid 4 range.

Abstract
Aim

To investigate the effect of intensive muscular exercise (weightlifting) on clinical chemistry parameters reflecting liver function in healthy men.

Methods: Fifteen healthy men, used to moderate physical activity not including weightlifting, performed an 1 h long weightlifting programme. Blood was sampled for clinical chemistry parameters [aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), lactate dehydrogenase (LD), gamma-glutamyl transferase (γGT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), bilirubin, creatine kinase (CK) and myoglobin] at repeated intervals during 7 days postexercise and at a follow-up examination 10–12 days postexercise.

Results: Five out of eight studied clinical chemistry parameters (AST, ALT, LD, CK and myoglobin) increased significantly after exercise[/B] (P < 0.01) and remained increased for at least 7 days postexercise. Bilirubin, γGT and ALP remained within the normal range.

Note (Mike Arnold): Kidney markers such as Bilirubin and creatine kinase are often elevated, particularly in high volume-frequency trainers.

Conclusion:
The liver function parameters, AST and ALT, were significantly increased for at least 7 days after the exercise. In addition, LD and, in particular, CK and myoglobin showed highly elevated levels. These findings highlight the importance of imposing restrictions on weightlifting prior to and during clinical studies. Intensive muscular exercise, e.g. weightlifting, should also be considered as a cause of asymptomatic elevations of liver function tests in daily clinical practice.

thanks mike, what do you think of everything i'm doing? any recommendations?

I generally consume about 140-150 grams protein from shakes and another 125-150 grams of protein from food per day. Also i consume about 10 g bcaa and another 10 g eaa per day along with a pre-workout drink. I currently weigh 218 at 6'1", age 34 (pretty lean)

Currently taking test cyp 150mg per week on sundays (was on 400 per week for 4 months but dropped down after summer to this)

Also take mk-677 (SOMATOZINE 2 pills) 25mg every night before bed (been on almost a year straight) with 35 gram casein shake and a tablespoon of almond butter

Daily I take a multi vitamin, coq10 200mg, milk thistle 3000mg, vitamin d3 10,000 iu every other day, chromium picolinate 300mcg, vanadyl sulfate 15mg, fish oil 4g, r-fraction alaph lipoic acid 900mg, liv 52 (3 pills), gymnema sylvestre 1,800mg, and citrus bergamot 500mg, vitamin c 2g.

Nothing wrong with me. MK-677 has been shown to increase fat-free mass; enhance sleep quality; improve healing of muscle, bone and ligaments; lower LDL cholesterol; improve hair and skin appearance; and improve overall sense of well-being. MK-677 does not cause pituitary sensitization, nor does it suppress the body’s production of Growth Hormone. Because Ibutamoren doesn’t stimulate testosterone, there are no chances of aromatization, or danger to liver, kidney, or prostate.

awesome to hear.

Do you use any pain killers? Anti-inflamattories?

A lot of those carry a more liver toxic nature then oral steroids or alcohol

i dont, i rarely ever take anything like that. Thats why i was so confused about the liver values.
