Any vets on here?

Finding yourself rather bored? Haha. I’m dreading the day I’m forced to hang up the boots.

I miss the people and friendships. Life is good though. Got my retirement and 100% disability. Worked as a contractor in Korea for 5 years after retiring and got married at age 50 for the first time. Now I'm back stateside working for the VA in D.C.

Never spent time in any branch of the services, but now at an older mature age, I wish I had. There is no greater honor to me than the time you guys have spent as soldiers for our country, and especially to those of you who have put your life on the line for all of us. Everybody before me in my family served, but my parents urged me to go to college as a first resort. I don't really regret it, but I wish I would have served for some years, then went to college afterward.

Anyway, a huge thanks to all of you!:headbang:

Sometimes the best part about being in, is being Out, but getting to talk smack the rest of your life.

Ehh, not everyone who wants to be in, is meant to be in the military. Those are the ones we want when we get back home for the support. They play just as crucial of a role as anyone else. If everyone could be a ranger, we wouldn’t be what we currently are. Smack talkin, I only do that if I’m around some jar headed jar heads!!! :D :D :D :headbang:

I can only imagine man. When my time comes, I’m gonna miss my boys. That’s great tho you found happiness and a wife brother. Not everyone can have that chapter added to their book of life.
There’s a quote that still to this day resonates in my soul.

“As life runs on, the road grows strange with faces new - and near the end, The milestones into headstones change, Neath every one a friend." - James Russell Lowell

I’ve always truly respected the navy’s Corpsman program. Worked with a few SARCs downrange and they’re fkin on point.

Yeah, A few years ago. Not sure if I stay in for the full bird. 1st look in a couple years.

Congrats on that bro. Weirdly enough I’ve been hearing more of “pick up light and bounce” from guys in my GFs squadron. She herself is checking out when her term is up and not waiting to pin light. O4 is good enough for her since she is looking forward to flying in the private sector. She won AC of the year for 2017 and crew of the quarter a few times. Times have sadly changed and it’s not what it used to be. I know they are losing a good amount of solid aviators.
