Ranson takes us through his leg workout as we discuss how he's able to be a bodybuilder and maintain is look as well as compete in powerlifting meets. His best lifts at 198lbs are Squat 705lbs , Bench 495lbs and Deadlift 722lbs Raw. For his weight class at 198lbs he's ranked 13th in the entire world for his lifts.

That is crazy strong for his weight! Im impressed. Havent watched the video, but just those numbers you provided are nuts.

Strength to weight ratio might be the thing that impresses me the most in this game. Big numbers are always impressive, but certain lifts have leverage advantages when you weigh more. Even if it's fat. Which is why a lot of strongman competitors don't care how fat they are.

Ronnie Coleman deadlifting 805 weighing around 300 lbs is impressive.

Franco Columbu deadlifting 780 weighing 185 lbs is fucking insane.

There is a video somewhere of Ed Coan talking about squatting 900 x 6 at a bodyweight of 213lbs.

I was at a PL meet many years back a dude in the 198s squatted 799 like it was nothing. That's 4x his bodyweight!

You just can't tell how strong someone is by looking at them.

Absolutely! I feel like a lot of people gloss over how fucking strong Columbu was because of strictly looking at the numbers (which are still impressive).

Yeah, I lifted for awhile with a guy that was in the 242 class and could squat about 850 lbs. I was impressed. Strongest squat I have ever seen in person. Spotted him doing about 800 lbs one night and his suit tore in the crotch at the bottom of the movement! I had to help him a bit to get up out of the hole.

Larry Pacifico was another really strong guy. Video here of him doing 575 lb bench raw at bodyweight of 234 lbs. He had several records in the bench at different bodyweights.

That's good stuff Maldor I competed in PL during the early 1980s one guy who really amazed me was Mike Bridge's dude looks totally normal but could lift crazy weight!
He was benching over 500 and squatting over 800 in the 181s
