Metformin and refeed days

Would it benefit yo use metformin on refeed days since your glycogen should already be very low and you want refill your glycogen as much as possible? I know its suppose to help with not storing the carbs as fat. Anyone try this only on refeed days? I appreciate the help!

I use metformin daily, so I don't have any first hand experience with just using it for cheat meals. Everything I know about it indicates that its effects are from chronic, rather than acute, usage.

What armada said about chronic and acute. You need to be taking Metformin for a while if you want the full benefits.

That being said, for a refeed, I don't see why you would use Metformin when your insulin sensitivity is already sky high (or at least should be) and you want your body soaking up all those nutrients. Metformin is known for blocking carb uptake. Now say you were going to do a quite large dirty refeed, I could see Metformin having some merit post meal. But even in that case, insulin would be a better choice.

Insulin with a “dirty” refeed is the worst idea EVER. All fat will be stores as fat.

Nope, you should. Ken “Skip” Hill always uses Insulin with each of his skipload meals and he definitely has loads of fat in them in recent years. I also utilise it with my cheat meals and always wake up fuller, tighter and LIGHTER on the scale. So stop spreading nonsense please when someone as experienced as Skip clearly proves that your statement is incorrect :)
